I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

─── What We Review
Everything Your Micro-Entity Company Is Required to Get Right
Most compliance problems are not deliberate. They come from a missed deadline, an accounts template that no longer matches FRS 105, or dividends taken without the paperwork to support them. Our review covers each area in turn and reports back in plain English.
FRS 105 Balance Sheet
A statutory balance sheet prepared to the FRS 105 format, using the reduced disclosure the micro-entities regime allows.
Profit & Loss Account
A profit and loss account prepared for your own records and for your Corporation Tax computation, without public filing.
Required Notes & Disclosures
Preparation of the notes and disclosures required for the company's accounts under the applicable reporting requirements.
Corporation Tax Support
Separate Corporation Tax support can be provided where included in the agreed service. The Corporation Tax calculation is governed by tax rules rather than FRS 105.

Your FRS 105 accounts filed with Companies House in the correct format, before your accounts filing deadline.

FRS 105 is the UK financial reporting standard that applies to micro-entities. It sets out how qualifying companies that choose to use the micro-entities regime prepare their annual financial statements, including the format of the balance sheet, the limited disclosures required, and the requirement to prepare the accounts on a historical cost basis. It is a separate matter from tax: FRS 105 governs the accounts, while Corporation Tax is reported separately to HMRC.
FRS 105 is available to companies that qualify for the UK micro-entities regime and then choose to apply it. Qualifying is not automatic — a company needs to meet the relevant size conditions and must not fall within any of the exclusions that prevent a company from using the regime regardless of its size, such as certain regulated financial activities. Because the rules include more than a simple size test, it is worth checking your specific position rather than assuming FRS 105 applies.
No. The micro-entities regime is an available accounting regime rather than a mandatory one. A company that qualifies may choose to apply it, in which case FRS 105 is the standard used to prepare its accounts — or it may use a fuller framework such as FRS 102 instead. Some directors prefer the additional detail and flexibility that a fuller standard provides, for example where lenders, investors or group arrangements require it.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least 2 of 3 applicable size conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. These conditions sit alongside the wider rules that govern the regime, including exclusions that can apply to particular types of company, so meeting two of the three thresholds does not by itself guarantee eligibility.
FRS 102 is a fuller financial reporting standard used by a much wider range of companies. It permits more measurement options, such as revaluation of certain assets, and requires substantially more disclosure in the notes to the accounts. FRS 105 is deliberately narrower and simpler: it is restricted to micro-entities, keeps everything on a historical cost basis, and strips back the disclosure requirements. Choosing between them is a question of eligibility and of what the company actually needs from its accounts.
For a limited company, the annual accounts — including those prepared under FRS 105 — are normally filed with Companies House within the applicable statutory filing period. That filing is separate from the company's Corporation Tax return, the CT600, which is submitted to HMRC to report taxable profits and is not the same document as the accounts. Both draw on the same accounting records, but they are prepared for different purposes and filed with different bodies. A Confirmation Statement is a further separate filing.
A newly incorporated company can use FRS 105 for its first accounting period if it qualifies for the micro-entities regime and chooses to apply it. New companies often do meet the size conditions in their early years, but eligibility also depends on the nature of the business and the exclusions that apply to the regime, so it is worth confirming before the first set of accounts is prepared. Planning ahead is useful, because the framework you choose shapes how the records should be kept.
In practice, preparation starts with your accounting records for the period: sales and purchase information, bank and credit card statements, payroll details, and records of any assets, loans or director's balances. You would also normally provide details of any stock or work in progress, plus the previous year's accounts if there are comparative figures. Once the records are complete, the accounts can be prepared under FRS 105 and reviewed for consistency before they are finalised.
Companies House has been introducing reforms to the way company accounts are filed, including a move towards accounts being submitted using compatible software with digitally tagged information rather than typed-in or paper formats. These changes are being phased in over time, and the practical effect on any individual company depends on its year end and filing arrangements. It is sensible to confirm the current filing requirements at the point you prepare your accounts rather than relying on how things were done previously.
