I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

They are the first set of statutory accounts a limited company prepares for its initial accounting period — the period that normally begins on the date of incorporation and ends on the company's first accounting reference date. They usually include a balance sheet and, where applicable, a profit and loss account, and they are generally delivered to Companies House where required. This is a reporting obligation that comes with being an incorporated company, not something that only begins once trading is well established.
It depends on the company's own dates. Companies House sets an accounting reference date when a company is incorporated, and the deadline for a first set of accounts is calculated from that date, which is not necessarily the same as the deadline that applies in later years. Rather than comparing your company with another, check the dates recorded against your own company, and take advice if you are unsure which period your first accounts should cover or when they are due.
In broad terms, we need the detail behind your accounting records: bank transactions for the period, any sales or other income, business expenses and purchase invoices, asset purchases, director transactions or loans, share capital information, and payroll, VAT or other records where those apply. A company with very little activity may need to provide far less than one that has been trading. Where records are incomplete, we will explain what is missing and how to fill the gaps.
Where a company is incorporated, statutory filing obligations generally apply, and accounts are usually delivered to Companies House where required — even if activity has been minimal or trading has not yet started. That does not automatically mean the company is dormant; whether it can be treated as dormant depends on its circumstances and the applicable rules. If you are unsure how your company's position should be reported, it is worth taking advice before deciding not to file.
No. Statutory accounts are delivered to Companies House where required, while a Corporation Tax Return such as a CT600 is submitted to HMRC where the company has Corporation Tax obligations. Figures from the accounts often inform the tax position, but the two filings have different purposes, different destinations and separate deadlines. Completing one does not complete the other, and a company's first Corporation Tax accounting period may not necessarily match the period covered by its statutory accounts.
Some newly incorporated companies do meet the eligibility conditions for the micro-entity framework and prepare accounts under FRS 105, the standard applicable to qualifying micro-entities. It is not automatic — eligibility is assessed against the applicable requirements and the company's circumstances for the relevant accounting period. A company that does not qualify may report under the small company regime or full accounting standards instead. We can check which framework is appropriate for your Aberdare company before the accounts are prepared.
No. A confirmation statement is a separate filing that confirms the company's registered information — such as directors, shareholders and registered office — remains up to date. It is not a substitute for statutory accounts, and filing accounts does not remove the need to keep the confirmation statement and other Companies House details current. Many companies have both obligations running alongside each other, so it is worth keeping track of each one.
Failing to deliver accounts by the applicable deadline can lead to Companies House consequences, and those consequences may escalate the longer the accounts remain outstanding. Paying any penalty does not remove the requirement to file the accounts themselves. If accounts are already overdue, the usual priority is to prepare and submit them as soon as possible; whether an appeal against a penalty is possible depends on the circumstances and the applicable rules.
