I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Confirm?
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a check on the company record itself.
- Registered office address and the company's registered name
- Directors, secretaries and their registered details
- Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs) and their registered particulars
- SAIL address and record-keeping location where relevant
- Standard industrial classification (SIC) code for the company's activities
- Confirmation that the company has complied with its obligations around share capital and SIC codes
- Any changes you need to report separately, such as a change of director or registered office, which are not made simply by filing a confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is sometimes referred to as a CS01, which is the form used for the filing. It is not a financial document — it does not report profit, loss, turnover or tax, and it is not a replacement for statutory accounts or a Corporation Tax Return.
Most UK companies on the Companies House register need to file a confirmation statement, generally at least once every 12 months. This normally applies whether the company is trading, dormant, not trading, or holding assets. If you are unsure whether your company falls within the requirement, it is worth checking your company's own filing history and current guidance, or asking us to review it for you.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed and even if the company is dormant or not trading. This 12-month review period is separate from the company's accounting period and from the annual accounts deadline. Companies can also file more than one confirmation statement during a review period when information changes and they want the register updated sooner.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement. The obligation relates to confirming that the Companies House record is accurate, not to whether the company has been financially active. If your company is dormant, the confirmation statement still needs attention, even though a separate set of accounts and a tax position may be handled differently.
The confirmation statement checks details such as the registered office address, directors and secretaries, shareholders and share capital, people with significant control, and the company's SIC code. If something is wrong or out of date, it may need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement — for example, certain changes to directors, registered office or share capital are notified on their own forms. We can help you work out what needs a separate update and what is covered by the confirmation statement.
They are two entirely separate filings with different purposes. The confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about the company is accurate and up to date. Annual accounts are the company's statutory financial statements, showing its financial position and performance for the accounting period. Filing one does not satisfy the other, and their deadlines follow different rules.
No. A confirmation statement goes to Companies House and deals with company record information. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) goes to HMRC and deals with the company's taxable profits and tax position. VAT Returns are different again, and are filed for VAT purposes. Filing a confirmation statement does not mean your accounts, CT600 or VAT obligations have been dealt with.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, the public record may not reflect the company's current position and Companies House may follow up in line with its own processes. Because the requirements and consequences can depend on the company's circumstances, it is best to check current guidance or speak to us as early as possible if you think a filing has been missed.
We start by reviewing the information currently held at Companies House, flag anything that looks out of date, and confirm with you what has changed since the last review period. We then prepare and submit the confirmation statement, and where a change needs to be reported separately we can handle that too. You get clear communication throughout, fixed-fee options rather than surprise costs, and a record of what was filed and when.
Simply get in touch with your company name and company number, plus a note of anything that has changed — new directors, a new registered office, share changes or updated PSC details. We will check your Companies House record, explain what needs to be done, and take the filing from there. Companies across Lockerbie and the surrounding area are welcome to ask us to handle their Confirmation Statement Filing.
