I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

- Non-trading companies that are not currently buying or selling
- Companies with a single director and shareholder, often run by one person

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?
A confirmation statement — often referred to by its form name, CS01 — is a filing to Companies House that confirms the information held on the public register about your company is accurate and up to date. It is a confirmation of existing records, not a set of accounts, and it covers details such as your registered office, directors, shareholders and people with significant control.
- Registered office address and, where relevant, the company's single alternative inspection location (SAIL)
- Company name, company number and principal business activity (SIC code)
- Director and secretary details, including appointments and resignations
- Shareholder information, share classes and the number of shares held
- People with significant control (PSCs) and their registrable details
- Statement of confirmation that the information on the register is correct
- Any changes you want to make — bearing in mind that some changes must be reported separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement
- A confirmation statement is not annual accounts and it is not a Corporation Tax Return (CT600). Those are separate filings with separate deadlines and separate purposes

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House, usually submitted using the CS01 form or the equivalent online service. Its purpose is to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. You are confirming details such as your registered office address, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and your company's principal business activity. It is not a financial document — it does not report profit, tax or trading results.
Any company registered at Companies House is generally expected to file a confirmation statement, whether it trades actively, is dormant or has stopped trading altogether. That includes limited companies, companies limited by guarantee and similar entities, wherever they are based — Epsom companies are subject to exactly the same rules as companies elsewhere in the UK. If you are unsure whether your particular company needs to file, it is worth checking your position rather than assuming you are exempt.
In most cases a UK company needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, calculated from the date of incorporation or the date of the last statement. Your review period runs for 12 months, and you normally have a period after the end of that review period in which to file. The confirmation statement schedule is separate from your accounting period and from your annual accounts deadline, so it is important not to assume the dates line up.
Yes. If something changes during your review period — for example a director is appointed, shares are transferred or your registered office moves — you can file an additional confirmation statement to bring your records up to date rather than waiting for the next annual one. It is also worth remembering that certain changes must be reported to Companies House separately, using the relevant forms, rather than relying on the confirmation statement alone to record them.
Yes, in most cases. Dormancy or a pause in trading does not normally remove the need to file a confirmation statement, because the statement is about confirming the company's recorded details rather than reporting trading activity. A dormant company may still have directors, shareholders and a registered office on the register, and those details need to be checked and confirmed. Being dormant can, however, affect what you include in other filings such as annual accounts, so it is worth taking advice on your overall position.
A confirmation statement confirms that your company information at Companies House is correct. Annual accounts, by contrast, are a financial document covering your company's accounting period, showing things such as assets, liabilities and results. They are filed under a different regime with different deadlines, and for many companies they must be prepared in a set format. Filing one does not satisfy the requirement to file the other, so both need to be dealt with separately.
A confirmation statement goes to Companies House and deals with company record information. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) goes to HMRC and reports the company's taxable profits and tax position for an accounting period. They are entirely separate filings, sent to different organisations, on different deadlines, and completing a confirmation statement does not meet your Corporation Tax obligations. VAT Returns, if your company is VAT registered, are separate again.
If a confirmation statement is not filed when it is due, the company's record at Companies House can fall out of date, and Companies House may take action — which can ultimately include steps to strike the company off the register. Because the confirmation statement also serves as your opportunity to correct the register, missing it can mean inaccuracies persist for longer than they should. If you have missed one, the practical step is to bring the filing up to date as soon as you can.
The process is simple. We review the information currently held about your company at Companies House, confirm what needs checking or updating, and prepare and submit the confirmation statement on your behalf. If a change needs to be reported separately, we will tell you what is required so nothing is missed. Pricing is transparent, with fixed-fee options available, and the whole service is designed to fit around a busy schedule. Getting started is as easy as getting in touch and sharing a few details about your company.
