I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Company Information
Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in the East Midlands?
Most UK companies — including those based across the East Midlands — need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if the company has been dormant, not trading or fairly quiet. The confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds is accurate and up to date. It is a separate filing from your annual accounts and from your Corporation Tax Return, and filing one does not satisfy the others.
- Active limited companies trading throughout the year
- Dormant companies that are not currently trading
- Non-trading companies and those between projects
- Companies limited by shares or by guarantee
- Single-director and single-shareholder companies
- Companies that have moved office, changed directors or issued shares since their last statement
- Companies whose people with significant control details have changed

What Is a Confirmation Statement, and What Is It For?
A confirmation statement is a filing at Companies House that confirms the information already held on the public register about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return. There are no figures or profit calculations involved — it is a check-in with the register, and it can be filed more than once during a review period when something changes.
- Registered office address and any alternative inspection address
- Directors, company secretary and their personal details
- Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs)
- SIC codes and the nature of the company's business
- The statement of lawful purpose and other standard confirmations
- It is separate from annual accounts and a Corporation Tax Return
- Certain changes may need to be reported separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement, often referred to as a CS01, is a filing made at Companies House that confirms the information already on the register about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document — there are no turnover figures, balance sheets or profit calculations involved. Instead, you check the details Companies House holds, such as your registered office address, directors, shareholders and people with significant control, and either confirm they are correct or make the necessary updates. Where certain changes need to be reported separately, those are handled through their own filings rather than being left until the confirmation statement is due.
Most UK companies registered at Companies House, including those across the East Midlands, need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove that requirement, because the confirmation statement is about the accuracy of the public register rather than about whether the company has been active. There are limited circumstances where a company may not need to file, so if you are unsure about your own position it is worth checking before the next statement date passes.
Generally, a company needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. That period runs from the date of your previous statement — your confirmation statement date — and not from your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline. The 12 months is a minimum interval rather than a fixed annual deadline, and the exact date depends on when your last statement was filed. If you are not sure when your next one is due, your company's record at Companies House will show the relevant date.
Yes. A review period is the window between statements, and you can file more than once within it. This is useful when something changes partway through the year — a new director, an allotment of shares, a change of registered office or a shift in your people with significant control details. Filing an additional confirmation statement brings the register up to date sooner rather than later. Some changes still need to be reported to Companies House through their own separate notifications, so it is worth checking whether the change needs its own filing as well.
The confirmation statement is a check on the information Companies House already holds. Typical items include the registered office address, any alternative inspection address, the directors and company secretary, the shareholders and statement of capital, the people with significant control, and the SIC codes describing the nature of the business. Any material change to the company's circumstances, such as a change of accounting reference date, may also be relevant. If something is wrong or out of date, the correction or update is often made through a separate filing first, and the confirmation statement then confirms the corrected position.
No — they are three distinct filings. Annual accounts are the company's financial statements, which are prepared and filed at Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return, often called a CT600, is submitted to HMRC to report the company's taxable profits and work out the tax due. A confirmation statement simply confirms that the register information Companies House holds is accurate. VAT Returns are separate again. Completing one of these does not discharge your obligation to complete the others, which is why it helps to keep a clear view of every filing date your company has.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, Companies House may treat the company as being in default, and the company and its officers can face consequences as a result. Over time, the registrar can take steps towards striking the company off the register. Alongside the formal position, an outdated public record can cause practical problems — banks, lenders, landlords and customers often check the register, and stale details can slow down applications or raise questions. Filing promptly, or asking a professional to handle it for you, avoids the issue altogether.
We begin by reviewing the information Companies House currently holds about your company, then we let you know what needs confirming and what needs updating. From there, we prepare and submit your confirmation statement, and we can assist with Companies House information updates so the register reflects the correct position. Our approach is built around clear, transparent pricing and fixed-fee options, so you know what you are paying for upfront. To get started, simply get in touch with your company details and we will take it from there.
