I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Which UK Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies — including those that are dormant or simply not trading — generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. Filing a confirmation statement is about confirming that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date; it is not the same as filing annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return, and those obligations continue separately.
- Active trading companies that want their public record kept accurate
- Dormant companies, which generally still need to file a confirmation statement each review period
- Non-trading companies that have not yet been dissolved or struck off
- Companies limited by shares, companies limited by guarantee and LLPs where a confirmation statement is due
- Newly incorporated companies approaching the end of their first review period
- Directors and company secretaries responsible for keeping statutory information up to date
- Business owners in East Bergholt and across the UK who would rather not handle CS01 filing themselves

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Is It For?
A confirmation statement is a short statutory filing made to Companies House. Its purpose is to confirm that the information Companies House already holds about your company is accurate and up to date as at a specific date. It is not a set of accounts, it is not a tax return, and it does not ask you to restate your financial results — it is a check on your company's core registered details.
- Registered office address and, where relevant, a SAIL address
- Details of directors, secretaries and company officers
- Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with Significant Control (PSC) information and the PSC register
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes describing the nature of the business
- Confirmation that the company has kept the required statutory registers
- Where something has changed, the confirmation statement may confirm the current position — but certain changes, such as a new director, a change of registered office or an allotment of shares, usually need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement
- A confirmation statement is a separate filing from annual accounts, a Corporation Tax Return (CT600) and VAT Returns, each of which has its own rules and deadlines

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document. You are not reporting profit, turnover or tax — you are confirming core registered details such as your registered office, directors, shareholders, share capital and People with Significant Control information. It is a separate requirement from annual accounts and a Corporation Tax Return, both of which continue to apply on their own schedules.
If you run a company registered at Companies House, you will generally need to file a confirmation statement, regardless of where in the UK you or the company are based — including East Bergholt. That applies to limited companies, companies limited by guarantee and LLPs. It also applies to companies that are dormant or not currently trading. If you are unsure whether your company has an active review period or whether a filing is outstanding, a quick review of your Companies House record will usually make it clear.
Most UK companies need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed since the last one. This runs on its own review period, which is not the same as your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if your company information changes and you want the public record brought up to date sooner. Companies House publishes the exact filing window that applies after each review period ends, so it is worth checking your own dates rather than assuming they match your year end.
The confirmation statement asks you to confirm the position on a set of core details: the registered office address, director and secretary details, shareholder information, share capital and the statement of capital, People with Significant Control information, and the SIC codes describing your business activity. It also includes confirmation that the company has kept the statutory registers it is required to keep. If any of those details have changed, you should make sure the change has been reported correctly. Some changes are reported through separate Companies House filings rather than being dealt with only at confirmation statement time.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the filing is about confirming the company's registered information rather than reporting trading activity or profit. A dormant company will often have fewer changes to report, which can make the filing simpler, but it is still a filing that needs to be made. Dormant companies also have their own separate obligations, such as annual accounts, which are dealt with under different rules.
No — these are three distinct filing requirements. A confirmation statement confirms that Companies House holds accurate information about your company. Annual (statutory) accounts report your company's financial position and performance for an accounting period. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is filed with HMRC to report the company's taxable profits and calculate Corporation Tax. Filing one does not satisfy the others, and each has its own deadline. VAT Returns are separate again, and only apply if the company is VAT registered.
The confirmation statement is a legal filing requirement, so failing to file it is not something to leave unresolved. Companies House can take action where a confirmation statement is overdue, and continued failure to file can ultimately lead to steps being taken to strike the company off the register. On top of that, an out-of-date public record can cause practical problems — banks, customers, suppliers and lenders may rely on the information shown at Companies House. If you think a filing has been missed, it is best to look into it promptly and put it right.
The process is deliberately simple for you. You share your company details, we review the information currently held at Companies House, highlight anything that looks out of date or inconsistent, and confirm what needs to be changed. From there we prepare and submit your confirmation statement and let you know once it has been filed. If changes are needed, we can also help with Companies House information updates so your record stays consistent. To get started, send us your company name and number along with a note of anything that has changed recently, and we will take it from there.
