We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

Which UK Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing in Chinley?
Most companies registered at Companies House need Confirmation Statement Filing in Chinley at least once every 12 months, regardless of whether they are busy, quiet or completely dormant. A confirmation statement simply confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date — it is not the same as filing annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return, and it does not report your profits, tax position or trading results.
- Private limited companies, whether active, dormant or not currently trading
- Companies limited by guarantee and other UK-registered company types where the filing requirement applies
- Limited liability partnerships, which also have an equivalent confirmation statement obligation
- Newly incorporated companies, once their first review period has passed
- Companies whose directors, shareholders, registered office or people with significant control details have changed
- Directors who want the confirmation statement prepared and submitted accurately without handling the paperwork personally

What Is a Confirmation Statement, and What Does It Actually Confirm?
A confirmation statement is a statutory filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is sometimes called the CS01 filing, and it is a separate requirement from statutory accounts, a Corporation Tax Return (CT600) or a VAT Return. You normally need to file it at least once every 12 months, even if the company is dormant or not trading, and you can file more than one during a review period if information changes.
- Registered office address, including any change of address
- Directors, secretaries and their details, such as appointments and resignations
- Shareholders, share capital and the statements relating to shares
- People with significant control (PSC) and their recorded details
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes describing the company's activities
- The statement of compliance confirming the company meets the confirmation statement requirements
- Note that certain changes, such as a change of registered office or director appointments, may need to be reported separately rather than left until the confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information recorded about your company is correct and up to date. It is also known as the CS01 filing. It is not a financial filing — it does not report profit, turnover or tax, and it does not replace annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return. It is simply the formal confirmation that Companies House holds the right details about your company.
Most companies registered in the UK need to file a confirmation statement, including active companies, companies that are not currently trading and dormant companies. Limited liability partnerships also have an equivalent requirement. If you are unsure whether your particular company structure or circumstances create an obligation, it is worth checking your company record and your last filed confirmation statement to see when it was submitted.
A company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, calculated from the date of the last one filed. That 12-month window is the review period, and it is separate from your accounting period and your annual accounts deadline. Companies can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period when information has changed and they want the Companies House record updated promptly.
The confirmation statement asks you to confirm the company's registered office address, its directors and secretaries, its shareholders and share capital, its people with significant control (PSC), and its SIC codes describing business activity. It also includes a statement of compliance. If any of those details have changed, they usually need to be reported to Companies House, and some changes must be notified separately rather than simply confirmed on the confirmation statement.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the filing is about the accuracy of the company's details rather than its trading activity. A dormant company may have simpler information to confirm, but the obligation to keep the Companies House record current generally remains.
They are two separate filings with different purposes. The confirmation statement confirms that the company information held at Companies House is accurate, such as directors, shareholders and registered office details. Annual accounts are financial statements covering the company's accounting period, reporting its financial position and results. Filing one does not satisfy the other, and they can fall due at different times.
A confirmation statement goes to Companies House and deals with company information. A Corporation Tax Return, often referred to as the CT600, goes to HMRC and reports the company's taxable profits and tax position for an accounting period. They are filed with different bodies for different reasons, and completing a confirmation statement has no effect on your Corporation Tax obligations.
If a confirmation statement is not filed when it is due, Companies House may take action against the company, which in the most serious cases can include moves to strike the company off the register. A lapse can also cause problems later when dealing with banks, lenders or other parties who check your company record. Because the consequences depend on the individual company's circumstances, it is best to bring any overdue filing up to date as soon as you can.
We review the details currently held at Companies House, check them against the information you provide, highlight anything that needs updating and prepare your confirmation statement for submission. Where company details have changed, we can help with Companies House information updates so the record is corrected properly. You get clear communication, a careful check of the details and a confirmation statement submission handled by someone familiar with the process.
Start by confirming your company name and company number, along with your last filed confirmation statement date, so the review period can be identified. Then share any changes since that date, such as new directors, a different registered office or updated shareholder information. From there we can check your record, discuss what needs to be updated and arrange for your confirmation statement to be prepared and filed.
