I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are the statutory accounts a UK limited company prepares for its accounting period. They provide information about the company's financial position and performance, and may include items such as a balance sheet, a profit and loss account, notes and other required statements depending on the company's size and applicable reporting requirements. They are prepared under the accounting framework that applies to the company — for example, micro-entities may prepare accounts using FRS 105 where the micro-entities regime applies and that option is chosen.
Annual Accounts Filing responsibilities generally apply to UK limited companies, including micro-entities, dormant companies, one-director companies and other eligible small limited companies, subject to the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. The format and content of what is filed can differ from company to company, depending on size, accounting period, dormant status, the accounting framework in use and current Companies House requirements. It is worth confirming your company's own position rather than assuming every company files the same information.
The deadline depends on your company's accounting reference period and its individual circumstances, so there is no single date that applies to every company. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline linked to their accounting reference date, and the exact due date should be checked for the specific company. Working on the accounts well before the deadline gives time to review the figures and deal with any queries.
Annual accounts are filed with Companies House, using the submission method the company chooses from those currently available. This filing is separate from anything sent to HMRC, and the information that appears on the public register depends on the company's size, the framework used and the exemptions available to it. If you would prefer not to handle the submission yourself, a filing service can prepare and submit the accounts on the directors' behalf.
No. Annual accounts filed with Companies House and a Company Tax Return (CT600) submitted to HMRC are separate obligations, even though they draw on similar financial information. Figures from the accounts are often used when preparing the company's Corporation Tax computation and CT600, but filing annual accounts with Companies House does not itself constitute filing a Corporation Tax Return, and the two have different deadlines. Annual accounts are also not the same as a confirmation statement, VAT Return, Self Assessment or payroll submission.
Being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically remove the need to file annual accounts with Companies House. Dormant companies may still have annual accounts filing responsibilities, although what they need to prepare and file can be simpler and depends on their circumstances and the exemptions that apply. It is important to look at the company's actual position rather than assuming dormancy means no Companies House filing is needed.
Yes. An accountant or filing service can prepare and review the accounts and submit them to Companies House for you. The directors remain responsible for ensuring the company's accounts are properly prepared and filed on time, even when someone else handles the preparation and submission. Clear instructions, complete records and an early start all help the process run smoothly.
If annual accounts are filed with Companies House after the relevant deadline, Companies House can impose late filing penalties. The amount and treatment depend on how late the filing is and on the company's circumstances, and this is separate from any HMRC penalties relating to Corporation Tax Returns. If you are concerned about a deadline, it is best to act early and seek appropriate advice rather than delay further.
