─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions from directors of small UK limited companies. Can’t see yours? Ask us directly and we’ll answer the same working day.
Micro-entity accounts are a simplified form of statutory accounts that eligible small companies can prepare and file with Companies House. They follow the micro-entity reporting framework under FRS 105, which reduces the level of detail required compared to full accounts.
To qualify, a company generally needs to meet at least two of three conditions for its accounting period: annual turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. These thresholds apply to accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025; earlier periods have different limits. We can review your figures to see if you may qualify.
FRS 105 is the financial reporting standard that applies to companies using the micro-entity accounting framework. It sets out the reduced disclosure requirements and simplified measurement rules that eligible companies can follow when preparing their statutory accounts.
To prepare your accounts, we'll need your company's financial records, including bank statements, invoices, receipts, and details of any loans or share capital. If your records are incomplete, we can advise on what's missing and help you get them in order.
Our service typically includes preparation of the micro-entity accounts in line with FRS 105, and filing them with Companies House. We also assist with your Corporation Tax Return (CT600) and submission to HMRC, where applicable. We'll confirm what's included before we start.
Yes, statutory accounts, including micro-entity accounts, must be filed with Companies House within the statutory deadline. We handle the filing process on your behalf, ensuring the accounts are submitted correctly.
Yes, filing micro-entity accounts with Companies House does not automatically complete your Corporation Tax obligations. You also need to submit a CT600 Corporation Tax Return to HMRC, which we can prepare and file for you separately.
Eligible LLPs may also qualify for micro-entity reporting where they meet the applicable requirements. The rules are similar to those for companies, but we can review your LLP's circumstances to confirm eligibility.
