I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

─── FRS 105 EXPLAINED
FRS 105 Explained: The Micro-Entities Reporting Framework
Who Can Use FRS 105 in the UK?
A company generally needs to meet at least 2 of these 3 conditions.
Business Turnover
Annual Turnover of £1 Million or less. (£632,000 previously)
Balance Sheet
Balance sheet total of £500,000 or less.(£316,000 previously)
Company Size
On an average 10 or less employees (10 or less previously)
─── What We Review
Everything Your Micro-Entity Company Is Required to Get Right
Most compliance problems are not deliberate. They come from a missed deadline, an accounts template that no longer matches FRS 105, or dividends taken without the paperwork to support them. Our review covers each area in turn and reports back in plain English.
FRS 105 Balance Sheet
A statutory balance sheet prepared to the FRS 105 format, using the reduced disclosure the micro-entities regime allows.
Profit & Loss Account
A profit and loss account prepared for your own records and for your Corporation Tax computation, without public filing.
Required Notes & Disclosures
Preparation of the notes and disclosures required for the company's accounts under the applicable reporting requirements.
Corporation Tax Support
Separate Corporation Tax support can be provided where included in the agreed service. The Corporation Tax calculation is governed by tax rules rather than FRS 105.
Companies House Filing
Your FRS 105 accounts filed with Companies House in the correct format, before your accounts filing deadline.
Director Copy Pack
A full signed copy of your accounts and tax return, ready for your bank, mortgage lender or accountant records.

FRS 105 is the UK financial reporting standard that applies to companies using the micro-entities regime. It sets out simplified accounting and disclosure requirements, allowing qualifying micro-entities to prepare shorter, less detailed financial statements than would be required under a fuller framework. It is a reporting standard, not a tax regime, and it does not change how much Corporation Tax your company owes.
FRS 105 is available to companies that qualify for the UK micro-entities regime and choose to apply it. Qualifying is not the same as being required — a company that is eligible may still decide to report under a different framework, for example if a lender or investor expects more detailed accounts. Eligibility depends on size criteria plus the specific rules and exclusions that apply to your company's situation.
No. Meeting the size conditions does not force a company to use FRS 105. The micro-entities regime is an available accounting regime, and FRS 105 applies when that regime is chosen. Some companies that could use it opt for a fuller framework instead, and some are excluded from the regime altogether regardless of their size. It is a decision worth considering alongside your wider reporting needs.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least 2 of 3 applicable size conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. These are the headline size tests, but they are not the whole picture — other eligibility rules and exclusions can apply, and certain types of company cannot use the micro-entities regime at all.
FRS 102 is a broader financial reporting standard used by a much wider range of UK companies, including small companies that do not use the micro-entities regime. FRS 105 is a separate, more streamlined standard designed specifically for micro-entities, with simpler measurement and far fewer disclosure requirements. Which one applies to you depends on whether your company qualifies for and chooses the micro-entities regime.
Yes — where a company prepares annual accounts, those accounts generally need to be filed with Companies House, and micro-entity accounts filed in that way should be prepared under the correct framework. Filing your accounts is a separate exercise from submitting a Confirmation Statement, which is a different Companies House filing, and from your Corporation Tax Return, which goes to HMRC.
Yes, they are two distinct things. Your FRS 105 Micro Entity Accounts are financial statements prepared under the micro-entities reporting framework, while a CT600 is a Corporation Tax Return submitted to HMRC. They draw on the same underlying records and should be consistent with one another, but they are prepared for different purposes, submitted to different bodies and subject to their own rules.
A newly incorporated company can potentially use FRS 105 if it qualifies for the micro-entities regime and chooses to apply it, including in its first accounting period. In practice, first-year accounts often need extra care because there is no prior-year comparative position and the company's activity may have started part-way through the period. It is worth checking the eligibility position before assuming the micro-entities regime applies.
Typically you would provide your bank statements, sales and purchase records, expense detail, details of any assets and liabilities, share capital information and any supporting documents such as loan agreements. If your company operates in Co.down and has unusual transactions, those should be flagged early so they can be treated correctly. Good quality records make the preparation of micro-entity financial statements much more straightforward.
