I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. Business Turnover
Annual Turnover of £1 Million or less. (£632,000 previously)
Balance Sheet

─── What We Review
Everything Your Micro-Entity Company Is Required to Get Right
Most compliance problems are not deliberate. They come from a missed deadline, an accounts template that no longer matches FRS 105, or dividends taken without the paperwork to support them. Our review covers each area in turn and reports back in plain English.
FRS 105 Balance Sheet
A statutory balance sheet prepared to the FRS 105 format, using the reduced disclosure the micro-entities regime allows.
Profit & Loss Account
A profit and loss account prepared for your own records and for your Corporation Tax computation, without public filing.
Required Notes & Disclosures
Preparation of the notes and disclosures required for the company's accounts under the applicable reporting requirements.
Corporation Tax Support
Separate Corporation Tax support can be provided where included in the agreed service. The Corporation Tax calculation is governed by tax rules rather than FRS 105.
Companies House Filing
Your FRS 105 accounts filed with Companies House in the correct format, before your accounts filing deadline.
Director Copy Pack
A full signed copy of your accounts and tax return, ready for your bank, mortgage lender or accountant records.

FRS 105 is the UK financial reporting standard for micro-entities. It sets out the accounting rules and the simpler format that a qualifying company can use when preparing its annual financial statements under the micro-entities regime. It is deliberately lighter than the larger reporting frameworks, with a shorter balance sheet and profit and loss account and far fewer notes to prepare.
FRS 105 is intended for companies that qualify for the micro-entities regime and then choose to apply it. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least 2 of 3 applicable size conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. Other eligibility rules and exclusions can also apply, so meeting the size conditions alone does not automatically mean the regime is available to you.
No. Qualifying for the micro-entities regime does not force a company to use it. Using the regime is a choice, and FRS 105 applies when that choice is made. A qualifying company may instead prepare its accounts under a different framework, which can mean more detail and more disclosure but may suit businesses with particular reporting needs, such as those with lender or investor requirements.
Both are UK accounting standards, but they are aimed at different sizes of company. FRS 105 is the micro-entities standard, with simplified presentation, simpler measurement and reduced disclosure. FRS 102 is the standard generally used by larger small companies and covers considerably more ground, including more detailed accounting treatments, fair value options and a fuller set of notes. Choosing between them depends on eligibility, the company's circumstances and what the users of the accounts actually need.
Preparing FRS 105 Micro Entity Accounts and filing accounts at Companies House are part of the same reporting cycle for most companies, but they are distinct steps in practice. The accounts are prepared first, then filed within the applicable deadline for the company's accounting period. Filing accounts with Companies House is a separate obligation from filing a Corporation Tax Return with HMRC, and a Confirmation Statement is a further separate filing that deals with the company's registered details rather than its figures.
Yes, they are separate deliverables. FRS 105 Micro Entity Accounts are the financial statements prepared under the micro-entities regime and filed at Companies House. A CT600 is a Corporation Tax Return submitted to HMRC, which calculates the tax the company owes. The figures in the accounts usually inform the tax return, but the two documents serve different purposes, go to different recipients and have their own deadlines.
A newly incorporated company may be able to use FRS 105 for its first set of accounts if it qualifies for the micro-entities regime and the director chooses to apply it. Eligibility in the first period is judged against the applicable conditions, and there are rules and exclusions that can affect whether the regime is available — for example, certain company types cannot use it regardless of size. It is worth confirming the position early rather than assuming, particularly if the company is part of a group or has unusual transactions.
In practice we need a clear picture of the company's activity for the period: bank and cash records, sales and purchase information, payroll details, expense and mileage records, asset purchases and disposals, any loans or directors' loan movements, and details of stock or work in progress where relevant. Opening balances and the previous year's accounts are also useful. The cleaner and more complete the records, the smoother the process — and the easier it is to discuss anything that needs a judgement call.
The way small and micro-entity accounts are filed is evolving, with a move towards filing accounts in a structured digital format rather than as simpler PDF or paper submissions. The detail and timing of these changes depend on the rules as they are introduced and on the software used. Because the requirements are shifting, it is sensible to review how you currently prepare and file your accounts each year rather than relying on how it was done previously.
