I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

─── What We Review
Everything Your Micro-Entity Company Is Required to Get Right
Most compliance problems are not deliberate. They come from a missed deadline, an accounts template that no longer matches FRS 105, or dividends taken without the paperwork to support them. Our review covers each area in turn and reports back in plain English.
FRS 105 Balance Sheet
A statutory balance sheet prepared to the FRS 105 format, using the reduced disclosure the micro-entities regime allows.
Profit & Loss Account
A profit and loss account prepared for your own records and for your Corporation Tax computation, without public filing.
Required Notes & Disclosures
Preparation of the notes and disclosures required for the company's accounts under the applicable reporting requirements.
Corporation Tax Support
Separate Corporation Tax support can be provided where included in the agreed service. The Corporation Tax calculation is governed by tax rules rather than FRS 105.
Companies House Filing
Your FRS 105 accounts filed with Companies House in the correct format, before your accounts filing deadline.
Director Copy Pack
A full signed copy of your accounts and tax return, ready for your bank, mortgage lender or accountant records.

FRS 105 is the UK financial reporting standard that applies to companies using the micro-entities regime. It is a simplified framework: fewer primary statements, limited note disclosures, and measurement rules that avoid the more complex fair value and revaluation options available under fuller standards. It exists so that the very smallest companies can produce accounts that are proportionate to their size while still being prepared on a consistent, recognised basis.
FRS 105 is available to companies that qualify as micro-entities and that choose to apply the micro-entities regime. Qualifying is not simply a matter of being small — the company has to meet the applicable size conditions set out in the rules, and certain entity types and circumstances are excluded or restricted. A company in Callander that believes it may qualify should check its position against the current criteria rather than assuming, because the size tests look at more than one measure and the position can change from year to year.
No. The micro-entities regime is an available accounting regime, not a mandatory one. A company that qualifies as a micro-entity may choose to apply it and prepare FRS 105 accounts, but it is equally entitled to prepare accounts under a fuller framework such as FRS 102 if that better suits its circumstances — for example where a lender, investor or group parent expects a wider set of disclosures. FRS 105 applies when the micro-entities regime is the regime that has been chosen.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least 2 of 3 applicable size conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. Meeting two of those three is the usual starting test, but other eligibility rules and exclusions can apply, and the tests are assessed against the relevant period and the appropriate rules. Getting this right matters, so it is worth reviewing your specific figures and structure rather than relying on a general rule of thumb.
Both are UK financial reporting standards, but they sit at different levels of complexity. FRS 105 is the micro-entities standard: streamlined statements, minimal disclosures, and restricted accounting policy choices. FRS 102 is the standard for larger small companies and other entities, and it allows or requires a broader range of treatments and disclosures, including things like fair value accounting and deferred tax. In practice, choosing FRS 105 usually means shorter accounts and less preparation work, while FRS 102 gives a fuller picture that some lenders and group companies prefer.
Where a company is required to file annual accounts, the accounts prepared under FRS 105 are the accounts that get filed, and micro-entity accounts can be filed in the simplified format permitted for the regime. Filing obligations depend on the company's own position — there are exemptions for some company types — so the right approach is to confirm what applies to you. It is also important to treat this as separate from Corporation Tax: filing accounts with Companies House does not discharge any corporation tax filing or payment obligation.
Yes, they are distinct. FRS 105 Micro Entity Accounts are the financial statements prepared under the micro-entities regime and, where required, filed with Companies House. A CT600 is a Corporation Tax Return submitted to HMRC, based on the company's taxable profits and prepared under tax rules rather than accounting standards. The two are related — the accounts are usually the starting point for the tax computation — but they are prepared for different purposes, filed with different bodies, and subject to different deadlines.
A new company is not automatically a micro-entity. Eligibility depends on whether it meets the applicable size conditions and whether any exclusions apply, which for a first period is assessed on the basis set out in the rules rather than on a full year of trading history. Many newly formed small companies in Callander do end up in the micro-entities regime, but it should be a considered decision, and it is worth checking your position before the first set of accounts is prepared, since the framework you choose shapes what you file.
