I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. ─── FRS 105 EXPLAINED
FRS 105 Explained: What the Micro-Entities Regime Means for Your Company
Who Can Use FRS 105 in the UK?
A company generally needs to meet at least 2 of these 3 conditions.
Business Turnover
Annual Turnover of £1 Million or less. (£632,000 previously)
Balance Sheet

Company Size

─── What We Review
Everything Your Micro-Entity Company Is Required to Get Right
Most compliance problems are not deliberate. They come from a missed deadline, an accounts template that no longer matches FRS 105, or dividends taken without the paperwork to support them. Our review covers each area in turn and reports back in plain English.
FRS 105 Balance Sheet
A statutory balance sheet prepared to the FRS 105 format, using the reduced disclosure the micro-entities regime allows.
Profit & Loss Account
A profit and loss account prepared for your own records and for your Corporation Tax computation, without public filing.
Required Notes & Disclosures
Preparation of the notes and disclosures required for the company's accounts under the applicable reporting requirements.
Corporation Tax Support
Separate Corporation Tax support can be provided where included in the agreed service. The Corporation Tax calculation is governed by tax rules rather than FRS 105.
Companies House Filing
Your FRS 105 accounts filed with Companies House in the correct format, before your accounts filing deadline.
Director Copy Pack
A full signed copy of your accounts and tax return, ready for your bank, mortgage lender or accountant records.

FRS 105 is the UK financial reporting standard that sets out how financial statements are prepared under the micro-entities regime. It is designed to be simpler than the fuller standards used by larger companies, with a streamlined balance sheet, limited notes and reduced disclosure. FRS 105 is not a tax calculation and it is not a filing in itself — it is the accounting framework applied when a qualifying company chooses the micro-entities regime for its annual accounts.
FRS 105 is available to companies that qualify for the UK micro-entities regime and choose to apply it. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least 2 of 3 applicable size conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. Other eligibility rules and exclusions can also apply, so meeting the size conditions alone does not automatically mean the regime is available or suitable.
No. Choosing the micro-entities regime is optional. A company that qualifies as a micro-entity may instead prepare its accounts under another appropriate framework, such as FRS 102, if that better suits its circumstances or the needs of its users. FRS 105 applies when the micro-entities regime is the framework that has been chosen, and that decision should be made deliberately rather than by default.
FRS 105 and FRS 102 are both UK accounting frameworks, but they are aimed at different sizes of company. FRS 105 is tailored to qualifying micro-entities and keeps presentation, measurement and disclosure requirements to a minimum. FRS 102 is a broader framework with more detailed recognition and measurement rules and a much fuller set of notes, and it is typically used by companies that do not qualify as micro-entities, or that prefer the additional transparency it provides. Moving between the two is possible but needs to be handled carefully.
Accounts prepared under FRS 105 are the company's annual accounts, and where a company is required to file annual accounts with Companies House it will normally file those accounts, often in the simplified micro-entity format. Filing expectations for small and micro-entity accounts have been evolving, so it is worth confirming the current requirements for your company's accounting period rather than relying on how things were done a few years ago. Preparing the accounts and filing them are two distinct steps, and both should be planned around your company's own deadline.
Yes, they are separate. The FRS 105 accounts are the financial statements prepared under the micro-entities regime, while the CT600 is the Corporation Tax Return submitted to HMRC. The tax return starts from the accounts figures but then applies tax rules, adjustments and allowances that do not appear in the accounts themselves. Because the two are submitted to different bodies and have their own deadlines, it helps to deal with them as distinct pieces of work.
A newly incorporated company may be able to use FRS 105 if it qualifies for the micro-entities regime and chooses to apply it, but this is not automatic. First accounting periods can raise practical questions, such as which size conditions apply and how the period is treated, and a company with little or no trading history still needs to consider any exclusions. It is worth reviewing the position before assuming the micro-entities regime applies from day one.
Typically we need a complete record of the period's trading: sales invoices and income, purchase invoices and expenses, bank and credit card statements, payroll information, details of any assets bought or sold, loan balances, amounts owed to and by the company, and stock or work in progress if relevant. Opening balances from the previous period, plus any prior-year accounts, are also helpful. The cleaner and more complete your records, the more straightforward it is to prepare accurate FRS 105 financial statements.
