First Year Accounts for Limited Company in Llandeilo: Professional Preparation and Filing Support

Your company’s first set of statutory accounts sets the tone for every filing that follows. Whether you incorporated recently and have not yet started trading, or you are already invoicing customers, Micro Entity Accounts can help you prepare accurate First Year Accounts for Limited Company in Llandeilo and deliver them to Companies House where required. We start by reviewing your accounting records — bank transactions, sales and income, business expenses, share capital and any director transactions — then prepare a balance sheet and, where applicable, a profit and loss account under the reporting framework that suits your company. If your company also has Corporation Tax obligations, we can explain how those sit alongside the accounts, remembering that a CT600 is submitted separately to HMRC and is not the same as filing statutory accounts with Companies House.

I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.

What Are First Year Accounts for a Micro Company? A Guide for New Limited Companies in Llandeilo

First-year accounts are the first set of statutory annual accounts a limited company prepares for its initial accounting period. That period normally begins on the date of incorporation and ends on the company’s first accounting reference date, although the exact dates and the length of the period depend on the company’s own details and the rules applying at the time. The rules for a first set of accounts often work differently from later years, which is why many directors look for guidance on First Year Accounts for Limited Company requirements as soon as they incorporate. For a new company in Llandeilo, these accounts are the formal record of its financial position at the period end and of its activity during the period, usually presented as a balance sheet and, where applicable, a profit and loss account with supporting notes. Where the company is eligible, first-year accounts may be prepared under the micro-entity framework, which allows a simplified format. Eligibility is not automatic and does not follow simply from being newly incorporated or having limited activity; it depends on whether the company meets the applicable conditions for the relevant accounting period, including the relevant size thresholds and other qualifying criteria. FRS 105 is the financial reporting standard used by qualifying entities adopting the micro-entity framework, while other companies may need to report under the small-company or full framework instead. It also helps to separate three distinct obligations. Statutory accounts are delivered to Companies House where required. A Corporation Tax Return, such as a CT600, is submitted separately to HMRC where the company has Corporation Tax obligations, and the first Corporation Tax accounting period does not always mirror the statutory accounts period. A confirmation statement is a further, separate filing that keeps the company’s register information up to date and does not replace the accounts.

Does Your New Company Qualify as a Micro Entity?

Even in your first period, your company must meet the Companies House size criteria to file micro-entity accounts. A company generally needs to meet at least two of these three conditions.

Annual Turnover of £1 Million or less. (£632,000 previously)

Get Your First Year Accounts for Limited Company in Llandeilo Prepared With Confidence

The first set of accounts tends to raise more questions than any later filing: what period should the accounts cover, which format is appropriate, and what actually needs to be sent to Companies House. If you are unsure whether your records are complete enough, or whether your company can use the micro-entity framework at all, Micro Entity Accounts can help. We help newly incorporated companies with First Year Accounts for Limited Company preparation and the related Companies House filing, and we explain how those accounts sit alongside separate Corporation Tax and confirmation statement obligations. Directors remain responsible for the company’s compliance, but with transparent fees and clear explanations, you can review your figures before anything is submitted rather than discovering problems afterwards. If you would like your first-year position looked at properly, get in touch and we will set out what is needed for your company.

They are the first set of statutory annual accounts a limited company prepares, covering the initial accounting period that begins when the company is incorporated and ends on its first accounting reference date. The accounts usually include a balance sheet as at the period end and, where applicable, a profit and loss account and notes. Once prepared and approved by the directors, they are delivered to Companies House where required.

The due date depends on the company's incorporation date, its accounting reference date and the length of the first accounting period. Companies House calculates the deadline from the accounting reference date rather than from when your bookkeeping is finished, and the rule for a first set of accounts can differ from the rule for later years. Because those dates vary between companies, it is worth confirming your own deadline shortly after incorporation instead of assuming it matches another company's.

It depends on what the company has done during the period. Typically we would ask for bank and credit card statements, sales and income records, purchase invoices and expense receipts, details of any assets bought, share capital information, director loan movements, and payroll or VAT records where those apply. If trading has been limited, we will tell you what is realistically needed rather than asking for documents that do not exist.

In most cases, yes — including where activity has been limited or trading has not yet started. A company with no significant accounting transactions may be able to take a different route, but that depends on whether it genuinely meets the dormancy conditions for the whole period and on the applicable rules, so it should not be assumed. If your Llandeilo company has been quiet since incorporation, we can review the position and confirm the appropriate approach.

No. Statutory accounts are delivered to Companies House where required, while a Corporation Tax Return such as a CT600 is submitted separately to HMRC where the company has Corporation Tax obligations. The figures in the accounts are often used when preparing the tax position, but the two filings serve different purposes and go to different places. Completing one does not complete the other, and the first Corporation Tax accounting period may not be identical to the statutory accounts period.

It may, but qualification is not automatic and does not follow simply from being newly incorporated, small or quiet. Eligibility depends on the company meeting the applicable conditions for the relevant accounting period, including the relevant size thresholds and other criteria. Where a company does qualify, FRS 105 allows a simplified set of accounts. We check eligibility before deciding which framework to use.

No, they are separate filings. A confirmation statement confirms that the company's registered details, such as its officers, registered office and share information, are up to date, and it is submitted independently. Filing first-year accounts does not replace it, and submitting a confirmation statement does not satisfy the accounts filing requirement.

Failing to file by the applicable deadline can lead to Companies House consequences, which may include a late filing penalty that can be higher where the delay is longer. Penalty amounts and the treatment of any appeal depend on the circumstances and the applicable rules, and paying a penalty does not remove the requirement to file the outstanding accounts. If your accounts are already overdue, the priority is usually to get accurate accounts prepared and submitted as soon as possible.
