I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

They are the first set of statutory accounts a limited company prepares for its initial accounting period, which generally starts on the date of incorporation and ends on the company's first accounting reference date. They are built from the company's accounting records and, where required, delivered to Companies House. They are not the same as a Corporation Tax Return, and they are not the same as a confirmation statement.
There is no single answer that fits every company. The deadline depends on the company's accounting reference date and on the fact that the first set of accounts is the company's first. Because an initial accounting period can cover more than twelve months, the first filing date does not always work the way directors expect. If you tell us your incorporation date, we can look at the position for your company and explain what applies.
It varies with what the company has done since incorporation, but typically we would ask for bank statements and transactions, sales or income records, business expense receipts and purchase invoices, details of any assets bought, share capital information, director transactions, any loans or finance arrangements, and payroll or VAT records where those apply. If activity has been minimal, we simply work with what exists.
In many cases yes, but the position depends on the company's circumstances and the applicable rules. Having limited or no activity does not automatically remove statutory filing obligations. Whether a company can file accounts on a dormant basis is a separate question from whether it has started trading, and it should be assessed rather than assumed. There may also be Corporation Tax considerations to review at the same time.
No. Statutory accounts are prepared for the company and filed with Companies House where required. A Corporation Tax Return, such as a CT600, is submitted to HMRC where applicable. The figures in the accounts often feed into the tax return, but the two are separate filings with separate purposes. Completing one does not complete the other.
It can, if it meets the eligibility criteria that apply to the relevant accounting period. Qualifying is not automatic, and it does not follow simply from being newly incorporated or from having low turnover. Where a company does qualify, FRS 105 is the reporting standard used under the micro-entity framework. We check eligibility before deciding which framework the accounts should be prepared under.
No. A confirmation statement is a separate filing that keeps the information on the Companies House register up to date, and it does not take the place of statutory accounts. A limited company may need to submit both, along with any other returns that apply to it. Directors remain responsible for making sure those obligations are met.
Late filing can lead to consequences from Companies House, and those consequences can vary depending on how late the accounts are. Paying any penalty does not remove the requirement to file the outstanding accounts. Appeal eligibility depends on the circumstances and the applicable rules, so it is worth speaking to us before assuming an outcome either way.
