I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.

I had a positive experience with Accotax. The work was completed promptly, my tax return was successfully filed, and I received a refund of overpaid tax. I found the cooperation efficient and helpful. Special thanks to Muhammad Saifullah for his assistance.

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.

Confirmation Statement Requirements

Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.

Filing Deadline

If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.

Company Information

Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.

People & Shares

Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once in each 12-month review period, within 14 days of the review period ending.

What's Included in Our Confirmation Statement Filing Service?

Officer & PSC Updates

Director, secretary and people with significant control changes reported alongside your statement.

Catch-up filing where a review period has already passed, including multiple missed statements.

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing?

Most UK companies on the Companies House register need to file a confirmation statement, whether they are busy trading, quiet, dormant or simply not trading at the moment. Remaining on the register keeps the filing requirement in place, so a company in West Chiltington should expect to confirm its information at least once every 12 months.

  • Active trading companies that want their Companies House information to stay accurate
  • Dormant companies with no significant accounting transactions that are still registered
  • Non-trading companies that are not currently active but have not been dissolved
  • Private companies limited by shares, companies limited by guarantee and limited liability partnerships
  • Directors and company secretaries responsible for keeping the register up to date
  • Newly incorporated companies approaching their first confirmation statement

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?

A confirmation statement is a statutory filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date as at the confirmation date. It is not a financial filing, and it does not replace annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return — it is about the company's register information.

  • Registered office address and, where applicable, the company's registered email address
  • Director and secretary details, including appointments, resignations and changes of particulars
  • Shareholder information, share capital and the statement of capital
  • People with significant control (PSC) and their relevant details
  • Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and the nature of the company's business
  • A confirmation that the register entry is correct, or an update where something has changed

─── FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.

A confirmation statement is a statutory filing made at Companies House. It confirms that the information the register holds about your company — such as the registered office address, directors, shareholders and people with significant control — is accurate as at the confirmation date. It is not a financial document and does not include profit, loss or tax figures. You either confirm the details are correct or update them where something has changed.

Most UK companies registered at Companies House need to file one, including private companies limited by shares, companies limited by guarantee and limited liability partnerships. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement. If your company remains on the register, whether it operates in West Chiltington or elsewhere in the UK, you should expect to file at least once every 12 months.

UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, counted from the date of the last statement, or from incorporation for the first one. This is separate from your accounting period and your annual accounts deadline. A company can also choose to file more than once within a review period, for example when information changes and you want the register brought up to date sooner.

The filing covers details such as the registered office address, registered email address where applicable, directors and secretaries, shareholders and share capital, SIC code and people with significant control. Where something has changed, some updates may need to be reported separately using the relevant Companies House form rather than waiting for the confirmation statement, so it is worth checking the position before you file.

In most cases, yes. A dormant company is still a company on the register, so the 12-monthly confirmation requirement normally continues. Dormancy affects what the company reports in its accounts and to HMRC, not whether it must confirm its Companies House information. Even a company with no activity should check that its register entry is accurate and file on time.

No — they are three separate filings with different purposes. The confirmation statement tells Companies House that your company information is accurate. Annual accounts report the company's financial position and are also filed at Companies House. The CT600 is the Corporation Tax Return submitted to HMRC. Completing one does not satisfy the others, and each has its own deadline.

If the confirmation statement is not filed, the company falls into default with Companies House. The registrar can take action, which may include beginning the process to strike the company off the register, and there can be consequences for the directors. Filing on time protects the company's standing. If you have missed a filing, a confirmation statement can usually still be submitted to bring the record up to date.

A professional service reviews the information Companies House currently holds, checks it against what you tell us, prepares and submits the confirmation statement, and confirms once it has been accepted. Where details need changing, those Companies House information updates can be handled as part of the same process. To begin, simply share your company details and let us know about any changes since the last statement.
