We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Walton?
Most UK companies need to file a confirmation statement, and that includes companies that are trading, companies that are dormant, and companies that are not currently trading at all. It is a separate requirement from preparing annual accounts or submitting a Corporation Tax Return, and it exists to keep the public register at Companies House accurate.
- Active trading companies that need to confirm their details are current
- Dormant companies that are not trading but remain registered at Companies House
- Non-trading companies that are between projects, paused, or winding down
- Companies limited by shares and companies limited by guarantee
- Limited liability partnerships, which file their own version of the statement
- Newly incorporated companies approaching their first confirmation date
- Directors and company secretaries responsible for the company's statutory records

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Confirm?
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of accounts, it is not a Corporation Tax Return, and it does not report your profit or tax position — it is a check that the register reflects reality.
- Registered office address and the company's registered name
- Details of directors, and the company secretary where one is appointed
- Shareholder information, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSC) and the information held about them
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes describing what the company does
- The statement of lawful purpose and other confirmations required on the CS01
- Changes that must be reported separately, such as director appointments or registered office moves, rather than waiting for the confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
Confirmation Statement Filing is the process of submitting a confirmation statement (form CS01) to Companies House. The statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company — such as the registered office, directors, shareholders and people with significant control — is accurate and up to date on the confirmation date. It is a confirmation exercise rather than a financial filing, so it does not include turnover, profit or tax figures.
If you run a company registered in the UK, including one based in Walton, you will normally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. This applies to trading companies, dormant companies and companies that are not currently trading. The requirement comes from the company being registered at Companies House, not from whether it has been active, so a quiet year does not usually remove the obligation.
A UK company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed since the last one and even if the company is dormant. You can file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if your company information changes and you want the register updated promptly. This is separate from your accounting period and from your annual accounts deadline, so the dates do not always line up.
Before filing, it is worth reviewing the registered office address, directors and company secretary details, shareholder information and statement of capital, your SIC codes, the statement of lawful purpose, and the details held about people with significant control. Some changes cannot be dealt with through the confirmation statement alone — for example, appointing or resigning a director, changing the registered office, or altering share capital usually needs to be reported separately using the appropriate form, either before or alongside the confirmation statement.
Yes. Being dormant does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement. A dormant company may have less to confirm and fewer changes to report, but it still needs to confirm that the information Companies House holds remains correct and to submit the statement within the filing period. Dormancy affects other areas, such as accounts and tax, but it does not replace the confirmation statement.
No — these are three distinct filings. A confirmation statement confirms company information at Companies House, annual (statutory) accounts report the company's financial position to Companies House, and a Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report taxable profits and calculate tax due. Filing a confirmation statement does not satisfy your accounts or tax obligations, and filing accounts or a CT600 does not satisfy your confirmation statement requirement. Each has its own purpose, deadline and audience.
Failing to file a confirmation statement is an offence, and both the company and its officers can be affected. Companies House can take action against the company, and continued non-filing can be a step towards the company being struck off the register. Because the consequences can escalate, it is sensible to deal with a confirmation statement as soon as the confirmation date approaches rather than leaving it — and if you have missed one, it is best to address it promptly rather than ignore it.
We start by reviewing the information Companies House currently holds about your company and comparing it with the details you provide. Anything that looks out of date is flagged so it can be corrected, and where a change needs reporting separately we can help with the Companies House information updates as well. We then prepare and submit the CS01 on your behalf, keeping you informed along the way. To get started, simply share your company details and confirmation date with us and we will take it from there.
