He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Which UK Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, and the requirement does not disappear simply because the company is dormant, not trading, or having a quiet year. It is a separate obligation from annual accounts and a Corporation Tax Return, and it is used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is still correct.
- Limited companies registered in England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, including companies based in or around Wainstalls
- Dormant companies, which still generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months
- Non-trading companies that have not invoiced or earned income during the period
- Companies whose details have changed during the year and need to be reflected at Companies House
- Directors and company secretaries responsible for keeping the register information accurate

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Is It For?
A confirmation statement is a filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial filing, and it is not the same as your annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return. Where something has changed, the statement gives you the opportunity to check and update the relevant company information.
- Registered office address and the company's single alternative inspection location, where one is used
- The details of directors and secretaries, including appointments and resignations already reported to Companies House
- Shareholder information, share capital, and details of people with significant control (PSCs)
- The standard industrial classification (SIC) code describing what the company does
- Statement of compliance confirming the information held is correct, or details of any changes
- Certain changes may need to be reported separately using the relevant Companies House forms rather than waiting for the confirmation statement
- Companies can file more than one confirmation statement within a review period where information changes

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is sometimes referred to by its form name, CS01. It is not a financial document: it does not include a profit and loss account or balance sheet, and it is a separate requirement from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return. The confirmation statement gives you the chance to check the company's key details and confirm them, or update them where something has changed.
If you run a limited company registered at Companies House, whether it trades in Wainstalls or elsewhere in the UK, you will generally need to file a confirmation statement. The requirement normally applies to active companies, dormant companies, and companies that have not traded during the period. Some company types and circumstances differ, so if you are unsure whether the requirement applies to your company, it is worth checking your company's position or asking a professional to review it for you.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even where the company is dormant or not trading. The 12-month period runs from the date of your last confirmation statement, or from incorporation if you have not filed one before. Companies can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period, which is useful when information changes and you want Companies House records brought up to date without waiting for the next annual submission.
The statement covers the core details Companies House holds, including the registered office address, directors and secretaries, shareholders and share capital, people with significant control, and the SIC code describing the company's business activity. You confirm that these details are correct, or you use the filing to bring them up to date. Where a change requires a separate notification, such as certain appointment or share-related changes, that should be reported using the relevant Companies House form rather than being left until the confirmation statement is due.
In most cases, yes. Being dormant means the company has no significant accounting transactions during the period, but it does not normally remove the duty to file a confirmation statement. The same applies to a company that has not traded. Dormant and non-trading companies usually have simpler information to confirm, but the filing itself still needs to be made and the details held by Companies House still need to be accurate, so the deadline should not be overlooked.
No. These are three separate requirements. A confirmation statement confirms company information held by Companies House. Annual statutory accounts are financial statements covering the company's accounting period and are filed with Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return, often called a CT600, is submitted to HMRC to report the company's taxable profits and calculate corporation tax. Filing a confirmation statement does not satisfy your accounts or tax obligations, and filing accounts does not remove your confirmation statement duty.
Failing to file a confirmation statement is a breach of company law, and Companies House can take action against the company and its directors. That action can include financial penalties and, in serious or prolonged cases, steps to strike the company off the register. Because the confirmation statement is a simple annual administrative filing, the risk is usually not worth taking: keeping it up to date protects the company's standing on the public register and avoids unnecessary complications later.
With a professional service, you provide or confirm your company details and we prepare the confirmation statement, check the information against what Companies House holds, and submit the filing on your behalf. Where details need updating, we can help with those Companies House information updates as part of the process. To get started, simply get in touch with Micro Entity Accounts and share a few basic details about your company; we will talk you through what is needed and keep you informed at each stage so you know exactly where things stand.
