I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies, including those based in Handcross and across the rest of the UK, need to file a confirmation statement with Companies House. It is simply a check that the information Companies House holds about your company is correct — it is not a set of accounts and not a tax return, so the requirement normally applies even if your company is dormant or not currently trading.
- Limited companies registered in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
- Actively trading companies of any size, from single-director businesses upwards
- Dormant companies that have not carried on business during the period
- Non-trading companies that are between contracts, projects or activities
- Companies limited by shares and companies limited by guarantee
- Companies whose directors, shareholders, registered office or share capital details have changed
- Companies that have recently been incorporated and are approaching their first confirmation statement

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Is It For?
A confirmation statement is a Companies House filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is typically submitted as form CS01 and is a separate filing from your statutory annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return — it reports company details, not profit, turnover or tax.
- The registered office address, company name and company number held on the register
- Directors and company secretaries, including appointments, resignations and their registered details
- Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs) and their registered particulars
- The standard industrial classification (SIC) code and the nature of the company's business
- Confirmation of the company's trading status and whether any insolvency or similar statements apply, where relevant
- Some changes, such as a director appointment or a change of registered office, must be reported to Companies House separately as they happen rather than simply confirmed when the confirmation statement is next due

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made at Companies House to confirm that the details held about your company are accurate and up to date. It is usually submitted as form CS01 and covers information such as the registered office address, directors, shareholders, share capital and people with significant control. It is not a financial document — it does not include profit, turnover or tax figures, and it is not a substitute for your annual accounts or your Corporation Tax Return.
Generally, UK limited companies need to file a confirmation statement, whether they are actively trading, non-trading or dormant, and companies in Handcross follow the same Companies House requirements as companies anywhere else in the UK. If your circumstances are unusual — for example, a company that has recently been incorporated, has changed ownership, or is being wound up — it is worth checking the position rather than assuming, because the confirmation statement sits separately from your accounts and tax obligations.
A company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed and even if the company is dormant or not trading. This runs on its own review period, which starts from the date of your last confirmation statement (or from incorporation for a first statement), and the filing deadline follows that period rather than your accounting period. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within the same review period if your company information changes and you want the register brought up to date sooner. We can confirm your exact due date as part of the service.
The confirmation statement is a chance to check the register: your registered office address, company name and number, directors and secretaries, shareholders and share capital, people with significant control, and your SIC code or stated business activity. It is important to remember that some changes must be reported to Companies House separately as they happen — for example, the appointment or resignation of a director, a change of registered office, or an allotment of shares. Those changes are notified on their own forms rather than being left until the confirmation statement is due; once they have been reported, the confirmation statement simply confirms the updated position.
Yes, in most cases it does. Being dormant generally means the company has had no significant accounting transactions during the period, but that does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, and it does not mean the register can be left unchecked. A dormant company still needs its directors, shareholders, registered office and PSC details to be correct, and it may also have separate dormant accounts obligations. The confirmation statement and dormant accounts are two different filings with two different purposes.
They are three separate filings with three separate purposes. A confirmation statement goes to Companies House and confirms that the company information on the public register is correct. Annual (statutory) accounts are the company's financial statements for a financial year and are also filed at Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return, often called a CT600, is filed with HMRC to report taxable profits and work out how much Corporation Tax is due. Filing one of these does not satisfy the others, and their deadlines are based on different periods — VAT Returns, where they apply, are another separate HMRC filing again.
Companies House can take action against a company that does not file its confirmation statement, and continued failure can ultimately lead to the company being removed from the register. Even before that stage, an out-of-date register can cause practical problems — for example, when a bank, lender or counterparty checks your company details. If you have missed a filing, it is best to put things right promptly rather than leave it, and we can help you work out what needs to be filed and in what order.
We start by looking at what Companies House currently holds for your company and comparing it with your own records, so any gaps or changes are picked up before submission. We then prepare and submit your confirmation statement, flag anything that needs to be reported separately on a different form, and confirm once the filing has been completed. Because pricing is clear and offered on a fixed-fee basis, you know where you stand before we begin. To get started, simply get in touch with your company name, company number and a note of anything that has changed recently.
