I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Confirmation Statement Requirements
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.
Filing Deadline
If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.
Company Information
Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.
People & Shares
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once in each 12-month review period, within 14 days of the review period ending.

Which Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies — including those that are dormant or not trading — need to file a confirmation statement with Companies House. The requirement comes from the company's registration, not from whether it has traded, made a profit or paid tax during the year, so a quiet year does not usually remove the obligation.
- Limited companies registered in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
- Dormant companies and companies that have not traded during the review period
- Companies with a single director and shareholder, as well as larger owner-managed businesses
- Companies whose details have not changed since the last statement was filed
- Companies that have changed directors, shareholders or registered office during the period
- Companies preparing to file — or that have already filed — annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return, since these are separate requirements

What Is a Confirmation Statement?
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a checkpoint on the public record. Even if nothing has changed, confirming that the record is correct is normally still required.
- Registered office address and the company's registered name
- Details of directors and company secretary, where one is appointed
- Shareholder information, including share capital, shareholdings and transfers
- People with significant control (PSC) information
- Statement of the company's main business activity (SIC codes)
- Details of where the company keeps its statutory registers, where relevant
- A check that the statement date and review period are correct for your company

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a document filed at Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is correct as at a particular date. It covers things such as your registered office address, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and your company's stated business activity. It is not a financial filing — it does not contain profit, turnover or tax information, and it is not a replacement for annual accounts or a tax return.
Most UK limited companies are required to file a confirmation statement, regardless of size and whether they have traded during the period. This includes companies with a single director, companies that have been dormant, and companies whose circumstances have not changed at all. If you are unsure whether your company needs to file, it is worth checking the filing history and due dates shown on your Companies House record, or asking an accountant to confirm your position.
A company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, covering a review period. The due date is normally shortly after the end of that review period, and Companies House shows the next statement date on the company's public record. You can file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if information has changed and you want to bring the record up to date sooner. The confirmation statement cycle is separate from your accounting period and your annual accounts deadline, so do not assume one date covers the other.
Before filing, it is sensible to check the details Companies House already holds — your registered office address, directors and their service addresses, shareholders and share capital, PSC information, and your SIC codes. You should also confirm the statement date is right. If any of those details are incorrect or out of date, they usually need to be updated, and some changes must be reported separately rather than simply noted on the confirmation statement.
Yes, in most cases. Dormancy affects your accounts and tax position, not the requirement to confirm the information on the public register. A dormant company that has not traded, has no significant accounting transactions and is not receiving income normally still needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. Filing the statement does not change your dormant status, and it does not replace the need to file accounts or deal with any tax obligations that apply to your company.
They are two completely separate filings with different purposes. Annual accounts are financial statements showing your company's position and performance for an accounting period, and they are filed at Companies House and used for tax purposes. A confirmation statement is not financial at all — it simply confirms that the non-financial information held about your company is accurate. Preparing and filing one does not satisfy the other, and each has its own deadline.
No. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is a tax filing made to HMRC, reporting your company's profits and calculating the Corporation Tax due. A confirmation statement is filed with Companies House and contains no tax figures at all. They go to different organisations, serve different purposes and have their own deadlines. Filing a confirmation statement does not mean your Corporation Tax Return has been dealt with, and vice versa. VAT Returns are separate again.
Failing to file a confirmation statement when it is due is an offence, and Companies House can take action — including starting the process to strike the company off the register. Unlike late accounts, there is no automatic financial penalty for a late confirmation statement, but the consequences of being struck off can be serious for directors and shareholders. If you have missed a statement date, it is best to deal with it as soon as possible rather than wait.
We start by checking the information currently held at Companies House against what you tell us, so any discrepancies are spotted early. Where details need updating, we identify what can be corrected as part of the confirmation statement process and what has to be reported separately. We then prepare your statement, confirm the details with you, and submit it to Companies House, keeping you informed of what was filed and when. If you have several companies or a group structure, we can handle the filings together.
Simply get in touch and let us know your company name and, if you have it, your Companies House number and next statement date. We will review your current record, tell you what needs checking or updating, and explain how the process works and what is involved — with clear, transparent pricing and no obligation. If you would also like help with Companies House information updates or your annual accounts, we can cover those in the same conversation.
