We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Garforth?
If your company is registered at Companies House, you will normally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months — and that includes companies that are dormant, not trading, or simply sitting idle. A confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is a separate filing from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return, with its own purpose and its own filing cycle.
- Active limited companies trading through the normal course of business
- Dormant companies, including those with no accounting transactions in the period
- Non-trading companies being kept ready for future use
- Companies limited by guarantee and other UK-registered entities with a confirmation statement requirement
- Directors who choose to file more than one confirmation statement within a review period because company details have changed
- Business owners who would rather a professional service handled the CS01 filing on their behalf

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Do?
A confirmation statement — often referred to by its form name, CS01 — is a filing made to Companies House to confirm that the information held on the public register about your company is correct as at a specified date. It is a check-and-confirm exercise rather than a set of financial statements, and it is not a calculation of profit, tax or VAT. The confirmation statement does not replace your annual accounts or your Corporation Tax Return, and filing one does not discharge those separate obligations.
- Registered office address, plus any single alternative inspection location used for the company's records
- Details of directors and, where appointed, the company secretary, including appointments and resignations
- Shareholder information, including share capital, share transfers and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the nature of their control over the company
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and other company details held on the register
- A confirmation that the information shown is correct, or notification of what needs updating

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held on the public register about your company is accurate and up to date. It is commonly known by its form name, CS01. It is not a financial document — it does not report profit, tax or VAT — and it is a completely separate filing from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
If your company is registered at Companies House and is within the confirmation statement requirement, then yes. In practice that covers most UK limited companies, including companies limited by guarantee. The requirement generally applies whether the company is trading actively, non-trading or dormant, so a quiet year does not usually remove the obligation. If you are unsure how the rules apply to your specific company, we can review your circumstances and let you know.
A company is generally required to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, with that period running from the date of the last statement. Some companies choose to file more than one confirmation statement during a review period — for example, to bring the register up to date after a change — and that is permitted. The confirmation statement cycle is separate from your company's accounting period and from your annual accounts deadline, so it is worth tracking them independently.
The confirmation statement is a chance to review the main details Companies House holds: the registered office address, directors and company secretary, shareholder and share capital information, people with significant control, and your SIC code. If any of these have changed, they should be corrected. Some changes must be reported to Companies House separately rather than simply noted on the confirmation statement, so it is important to identify which is which before you file.
In most cases, yes. Dormancy relates to your accounting and tax position, and it does not normally remove the confirmation statement requirement. A dormant company can still have directors, shareholders and a registered office on the register, and those details still need confirming. Filing a confirmation statement is a separate obligation from filing accounts for a dormant company.
No — these are three different filings with three different purposes. The confirmation statement confirms that your company's register information is correct. Annual (statutory) accounts report your company's financial position and performance. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report taxable profits and calculate Corporation Tax, and a VAT Return deals with VAT. Completing a confirmation statement does not meet any of those other obligations.
If a confirmation statement is not filed when it is due, Companies House can take action against the company and its officers, and continued failure can ultimately lead to the company being struck off the register. An overdue confirmation statement also tends to prompt questions from banks, lenders and counterparties checking your record. Filing promptly, and keeping the underlying information accurate, avoids that unnecessary risk.
We begin by checking the details Companies House currently holds for your company and confirming what has changed since your last statement. Where updates are needed, we help you action them, then prepare and submit the CS01 on your behalf and confirm once it has been filed. To get started, simply share your company name and number with us and we will take it from there, with clear, transparent pricing and no surprises along the way.
