I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Confirmation Statement Requirements
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.
Filing Deadline
If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.
Company Information
Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.
People & Shares
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once in each 12-month review period, within 14 days of the review period ending.

Which UK Companies Need to File a Confirmation Statement?
Most UK limited companies and LLPs need to file a confirmation statement with Companies House — and that includes companies in Gainsborough that are dormant, not trading, or simply sitting quietly between contracts.
- Active limited companies that are trading and have had changes since the last filing
- Dormant companies that hold no significant accounting transactions
- Non-trading companies that are not currently generating income
- Companies limited by shares and companies limited by guarantee
- Limited liability partnerships (LLPs)
- Companies with a single director and shareholder as well as those with more complex ownership structures
- Companies that have changed directors, shareholders, registered office or people with significant control during the review period

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Actually Do?
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House to confirm that the information they hold about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document and it is not a snapshot of your trading performance — it is a check on your company's statutory record.
- Registered office address and the company's principal place of business
- Company name, company number and business activity (SIC codes)
- Directors, secretaries and their appointment details
- Shareholders, share capital and shareholdings
- People with significant control (PSCs) and their registrable details
- Confirmation of the statement date and the review period being covered
- Statement that the company is complying with its statutory obligations where applicable
- It is a separate filing from annual accounts and a Corporation Tax Return — filing a confirmation statement does not replace either of those

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information they hold about your company is correct as at a particular date. It covers things like your registered office address, directors, shareholders and people with significant control. It is not a set of accounts and it does not report your profit or tax position — it is purely a check that the public record for your company is accurate and current.
Most UK limited companies, and limited liability partnerships, need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if they are dormant, not trading, or have seen no changes during the year. If you are unsure whether your particular entity or structure has a filing obligation, it is worth checking your company's circumstances before assuming you are exempt, because dormant status does not normally remove the requirement.
A company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, calculated from the company's confirmation statement date or the date of its last filing. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if your company information changes and you want the register brought up to date sooner — you do not have to wait for the next annual date if you would rather update early.
Before submitting, you should review the information Companies House already holds — your registered office address, directors and their details, shareholders and share capital, people with significant control, and your SIC codes for business activity. If any of it has changed, the change may need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than simply being reflected in the confirmation statement, so it is important to get that sequence right.
Yes, in most cases they do. Dormant and non-trading companies still have a Companies House record, and a confirmation statement is the mechanism for confirming that record is accurate. Dormancy affects other filings — for example, whether you need to prepare and file accounts or notify HMRC — but it does not normally remove the confirmation statement requirement. This is one of the most common misconceptions we come across.
No. These are three separate filings with different purposes. A confirmation statement confirms that your Companies House information is accurate. Annual accounts report your company's financial position for an accounting period. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report taxable profit and calculate the tax due. Filing one does not satisfy the others, and a confirmation statement does not confirm that your company is compliant with every Companies House or tax obligation.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, the company's record at Companies House will show the filing as outstanding, and Companies House may take further action in relation to the company. Because the consequences can depend on your company's circumstances and how long the filing has been outstanding, it is best to address it as soon as you notice rather than leaving it, and to take guidance on your company's position.
We start by reviewing the information Companies House holds about your company against the details you provide. Anything that needs correcting or reporting separately is flagged, and then your confirmation statement is prepared and submitted. To get started, simply share your company details and we will confirm what is needed, what information we will check, and how the process will run from there.
