He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, and that includes companies that are trading actively, companies that are dormant, and companies that are not currently trading. The requirement comes from the company's registration itself rather than from how busy the business happens to be.
- Limited companies registered in the UK, including private companies limited by shares
- Companies limited by guarantee and other registered company types, depending on their circumstances
- Dormant companies that are not trading or receiving income during the period
- Non-trading companies that are between projects, restructuring, or simply on hold
- Companies whose details have not changed at all since the last confirmation statement
- Companies that have changed directors, shareholders, or registered office details and need the public record updated
- Directors and company secretaries who want the filing handled accurately rather than left to chance

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Do?
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is sometimes called a CS01 filing, which is the form used for Confirmation Statement Filing. It is not a set of financial statements and it is not a tax return.
- Registered office address and the company's single alternative inspection location, where one is used
- The company name, registered number, and details of the company type
- Directors and, where applicable, the company secretary
- Shareholders and the details of the shares held, including share transfers and allotments
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the nature of their control
- Standard industrial classification (SIC) code and the general nature of the business
- Statement of capital and the particulars of share classes where these have changed
- Confirmation that the information held is correct, or the updates needed to make it correct

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is submitted using the CS01 form, which is why it is often referred to as CS01 filing. It is a separate document from your annual accounts and from any tax return — it is about the company's statutory record, not about profit, loss, or tax.
As a general rule, UK companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, whether they are actively trading, dormant, or not trading at all. Because the requirement flows from the company's registration, it does not disappear simply because the business has paused or has no activity to report. If your company is in an unusual position, it is worth checking what applies to your specific circumstances rather than assuming an exemption.
Companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing about the company has changed and even if it is dormant. The 12-month period is known as the review period. Importantly, you can file more than one confirmation statement within a review period where information changes, and certain changes may need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the next confirmation statement. The review period is not the same as your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline.
A confirmation statement is a chance to check and, where necessary, correct the core details Companies House holds about your company. That typically includes the registered office address, directors and company secretary, shareholders and share details, statement of capital and share classes, people with significant control and the nature of their control, the standard industrial classification (SIC) code, and the general nature of the business. If something has changed, the relevant update may need to be filed at Companies House, sometimes separately from the confirmation statement itself.
Yes, a dormant company will normally still need to file a confirmation statement. Dormancy relates to trading activity and income, not to whether the company exists on the register. A dormant company still has a registered office, directors, and often shareholders, and Companies House still needs confirmation that those details are correct. If your company is dormant, it is worth having the record checked so that any dormant-company filings and the confirmation statement stay aligned.
No, these are three distinct filings with different purposes. The confirmation statement confirms that the company information held by Companies House is accurate. Annual accounts report the company's financial position and performance for an accounting period and are filed at Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return, often filed on the CT600 form, deals with the company's tax position and goes to HMRC. None of them replaces the others, and filing one does not satisfy the requirement to file another.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, the company's record at Companies House will show that the filing is outstanding, and Companies House can take further action in relation to the company and its directors. Leaving it unresolved tends to create problems later — it can hold up other filings, complicate bank or finance requirements, and cause unnecessary stress when it finally has to be sorted out. The practical answer is usually to deal with it as soon as you realise it is outstanding.
It is straightforward. You share the relevant details about your company and any changes that have taken place since the last confirmation statement, we check them against the information Companies House currently holds, and we prepare and submit the confirmation statement with the appropriate updates. Where a change needs to be reported separately, we can point that out and help with Companies House information updates too. To get started, simply get in touch with the details of your company and we will take it from there.
