We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Confirmation Statement Requirements
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.

If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Droitwich?
Most companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, and that includes companies that are dormant, not trading or simply quiet during the review period. Being inactive does not normally remove the filing requirement, and it is a separate exercise from preparing annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return.
- Active limited companies trading through the year
- Dormant companies with no significant accounting transactions
- Non-trading companies that are still registered at Companies House
- Companies limited by shares and companies limited by guarantee
- Directors and company secretaries responsible for the company's statutory records
- Newly incorporated companies approaching their first confirmation statement

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?
A confirmation statement — often referred to as a CS01 — is the filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of annual accounts, and it is not a Corporation Tax Return; it is a separate Companies House filing with its own purpose and its own deadline.
- Registered office address and registered company name
- Directors, company secretary (if appointed) and their service addresses
- Shareholders, share capital and details of shareholdings
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the company's PSC register
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes and the statement of lawful purpose
- Confirmation that the company is keeping the statutory registers it is required to keep

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement, also known as form CS01, is a Companies House filing that confirms the information held on the public register about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document. It does not include profit and loss figures, and it is not a Corporation Tax Return or a set of annual accounts. Its purpose is simply to give you an annual opportunity to check and confirm details such as your registered office, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and your SIC codes, and to tell Companies House if anything has changed.
Any company registered at Companies House, including companies based in Droitwich and the surrounding Worcestershire area, will generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. That covers active trading companies, companies limited by shares, companies limited by guarantee and companies that are not currently trading. The obligation sits with the company and its directors rather than with a particular individual, so if you are a director and nobody has dealt with the filing, it is worth checking your company's position.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, regardless of whether the company is trading, dormant or inactive. The 12-month period is known as a review period and it runs from the date your last confirmation statement was filed, or from the date of incorporation for a first filing. This cycle is separate from your company's accounting period and from the deadline for filing annual accounts, so the dates will often fall at different times of the year.
Yes. Although one confirmation statement per 12-month review period is the minimum requirement, you can file additional confirmation statements within the same period if your company's information changes. Some directors prefer to do this so the public register reflects the current position as quickly as possible. However, certain changes — such as appointing or resigning a director, changing your registered office, or updating share capital — may need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the next confirmation statement, and those updates may carry their own notification requirements.
In most cases, yes. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement. Dormant companies are still registered at Companies House, so the register still needs to be confirmed as accurate each review period, even where there has been no trade and no significant accounting activity. This is one of the areas where a confirmation statement is often confused with annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return — all three relate to different obligations, and meeting one does not automatically satisfy the others.
A confirmation statement confirms that the register information Companies House holds about your company is correct; it contains no financial reporting. Annual accounts, by contrast, are the company's statutory financial statements, showing figures such as assets, liabilities, income and expenses, and they are filed under a different Companies House filing requirement with its own deadline. A Corporation Tax Return (form CT600) is filed separately with HMRC and deals with the company's tax position. Filing a confirmation statement does not mean your accounts or tax filings have been dealt with.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, the company falls behind on its Companies House filing obligations and Companies House can take action. Persistent failure to file can ultimately lead towards the company being struck off the register, which can have serious consequences for the business and its assets. Because the practical outcome depends on your company's particular circumstances, the sensible approach is to check whether a confirmation statement is outstanding and deal with it promptly rather than leaving it unattended.
We start by reviewing the information currently held at Companies House, comparing it against your own records and flagging anything that looks out of date. Where changes are needed, we help you report Companies House information updates correctly — and where a change must be notified separately rather than through the confirmation statement, we will tell you. We then prepare and submit your confirmation statement filing, confirm it has been accepted and keep you informed at each stage. To get started, simply share your company details and we will take it from there.
