I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Confirmation Statement Requirements
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.
Filing Deadline
If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.
Company Information
Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.
People & Shares
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once in each 12-month review period, within 14 days of the review period ending.

Which UK Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies need Confirmation Statement Filing at least once every 12 months, and that requirement generally applies whether the company is busy, quiet, dormant or not trading at all. The confirmation statement is a separate filing from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return — it confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is correct, rather than reporting your profits or tax position.
- Private limited companies registered in the UK
- Dormant companies with no trading activity
- Non-trading companies that are simply not active yet
- Companies limited by guarantee, where relevant
- Companies whose details have changed since the last statement
- Companies that have received a confirmation statement reminder from Companies House

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Is It For?
A confirmation statement is the annual (or more frequent) filing that confirms the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a check on your company record, submitted to Companies House, and it can be filed even when nothing about the company has changed.
- Your registered office address and company name
- The directors, secretary and their details
- Shareholders, shares and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSC) information
- The nature of your business, including SIC codes
- Confirmation that the company information held is correct
- It is not the same as annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It covers details such as your registered office address, directors and secretary, shareholders and share capital, people with significant control, and the nature of your business. It is a separate filing from your annual accounts and from your Corporation Tax Return — it confirms your company record rather than reporting your financial results.
If you run a UK company, Confirmation Statement Filing is generally required, and that applies to companies across Auchterarder and the rest of the UK alike. It normally applies to active trading companies, dormant companies and non-trading companies, because the requirement is about keeping the public register accurate rather than about how much business the company is doing. If you are unsure whether your particular company needs to file, we can check your circumstances and confirm what is required.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, counted from the date of the previous statement or from incorporation for a first filing. Companies House usually sends a reminder when a statement is due, but the responsibility to file rests with the company. The confirmation statement review period is not the same as your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline, so it is worth keeping the two dates clearly separated in your records.
Yes. You can file more than one confirmation statement during a review period, and it can be useful to do so when something has changed and you want the public register to reflect it promptly. That said, certain changes — such as appointments or resignations of directors, changes to the registered office, or updates to share capital and PSC information — may need to be reported separately rather than simply being confirmed on a confirmation statement. Getting that distinction right is one of the areas where professional help is genuinely useful.
In most cases, yes. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the filing confirms the company record rather than reporting trade. A dormant company may still have directors, shareholders, a registered office and a PSC entry that need to be accurate at Companies House. Filing a confirmation statement does not, on its own, make a company compliant with every Companies House or tax obligation — it is one specific filing among several that may apply.
A confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. Annual accounts report your company's financial position and performance and are also filed at Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC and deals with your company's tax position. They are three separate filings with different purposes, different information and their own filing arrangements, so one does not replace another.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, the company record falls out of date and Companies House can take action, which may ultimately include steps to strike the company off the register. Directors can also find that overdue filings cause problems later, for example when dealing with banks, lenders or other parties who check the public register. Because the consequences depend on the company's circumstances and how long the filing has been outstanding, it is best to address an overdue or missed statement as soon as possible rather than leave it.
The process is straightforward. We review the information Companies House currently holds about your company, compare it with what you tell us, and identify anything that needs updating before submission. We then prepare and submit the confirmation statement, or a CS01 filing, on your behalf and let you know once it has been dealt with. If any change needs to be reported separately, we will point that out so nothing is overlooked. To get started, simply get in touch with your company details and we will take it from there.
