I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are the statutory financial statements a company prepares for a defined accounting period. They provide information about the company's financial position and performance for that period and are prepared according to the accounting framework that applies to the company. Depending on the company's size and circumstances, they may include a balance sheet, a profit and loss account, notes, and other required statements or information.
UK limited companies generally have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House, subject to the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. The type of accounts prepared and the information made public can differ depending on company size, the accounting framework used, and current Companies House requirements. Micro-entities, dormant companies, and one-director companies may all have filing obligations, even where the accounts themselves are relatively simple.
The filing deadline depends on the company's circumstances and its accounting reference period, so it is not the same for every company. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline based on their accounting reference period, but the exact date should be checked for the individual company. It is worth confirming your deadline early, because preparing accounts takes time and the date can differ from HMRC Corporation Tax deadlines.
Annual accounts are filed with Companies House. This is separate from submitting a Company Tax Return to HMRC. If your company also has Corporation Tax obligations, information from the accounts may be used when preparing the company's tax computation and CT600, but filing annual accounts with Companies House does not itself constitute filing a Corporation Tax Return.
No. Annual accounts are the statutory accounts filed with Companies House, while a CT600 is the Company Tax Return submitted to HMRC. They serve different purposes and are filed with different bodies. The two can be connected in practice, because figures from the accounts often feed into the Corporation Tax computation, but they are separate filings with separate deadlines.
No. A confirmation statement is a separate Companies House filing that confirms information such as the company's registered details, directors, and shareholders. Annual Accounts Filing deals with the company's financial statements for the accounting period. Both can be due in the same year, so it helps to track them separately rather than treating them as one obligation.
Dormant companies may still have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House. Being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically mean a company is exempt from filing annual accounts. The position depends on the company's circumstances and the exemptions that apply, so it is worth confirming what is required before assuming no filing is needed.
Micro-entities may qualify for the micro-entities regime and may prepare accounts using FRS 105 where the regime is applicable and chosen. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least two of three conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees, subject to applicable rules and exclusions. Meeting these figures does not automatically confirm eligibility, so the relevant rules should be considered carefully.
