I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are the statutory financial statements prepared for a company's accounting period. They provide information about the company's financial position and performance and are prepared under the accounting framework that applies to that company. Depending on its size and framework, a company's annual accounts may include a balance sheet, a profit and loss account, notes and other required statements or information, and they are filed with Companies House where the company is required to do so.
UK limited companies registered at Companies House generally have annual accounts filing responsibilities, subject to the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. That can include micro-entities, dormant companies, one-director companies and other eligible small limited companies in Grazeley and elsewhere. The type of accounts prepared and the information filed are not identical for every company, so the requirements should be checked against your own company's position.
The filing deadline depends on your company's circumstances and accounting period. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline based on their accounting reference period, and first accounts can follow a different timescale from later years. It is worth checking the exact date shown for your company rather than assuming it matches another company's date. Keeping the relevant accounting period and deadline in view helps you plan preparation and review in good time.
No. Annual accounts filed with Companies House are separate from a Company Tax Return (CT600) submitted to HMRC. Information from the accounts may be used when preparing the company's Corporation Tax computation and CT600, but filing annual accounts with Companies House does not itself constitute filing a Corporation Tax Return with HMRC, and the two have their own filing arrangements and deadlines.
No, these are separate company filings. A confirmation statement confirms details held by Companies House, such as directors, shareholders and the registered office, while annual accounts report the company's financial position and performance for the accounting period. Both can fall due in the same year, but they serve different purposes and are filed separately.
A dormant company may still have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House. Being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically mean the company is exempt from filing annual accounts, and the type of accounts filed can depend on the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. Where dormant accounts are appropriate, preparation and submission can still be handled carefully so the filing reflects the company's position.
Micro-entities may qualify for the micro-entities regime and, where it applies and is chosen, prepare accounts using FRS 105. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least two of three size conditions — turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000 and an average number of employees of no more than 10 — subject to the relevant rules and exclusions. Meeting the figures does not automatically confirm eligibility, so the rules should be considered for each company, and the accounts still need to be filed at Companies House where required.
Companies House can impose late filing penalties when accounts are filed after the relevant deadline. These penalties relate to the Companies House annual accounts filing and are separate from any HMRC penalties connected with Corporation Tax Returns. Directors remain responsible for ensuring that company accounts are properly prepared and filed on time, even when an accountant or filing service prepares and submits them on the company's behalf.
