I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are a formal set of financial statements showing your company's financial position and performance for a specific accounting period. They are prepared according to the accounting framework that applies to the company and are generally filed with Companies House where filing is required. They are separate from a Company Tax Return submitted to HMRC.
UK registered companies generally have Annual Accounts Filing responsibilities with Companies House, although the exact requirements depend on the company's circumstances and any exemptions that apply. A micro-entity, a dormant company, a one-director company and other eligible small limited companies may each prepare and file different types of accounts. If you are unsure what applies to your company, it is worth confirming before the deadline.
The deadline depends on your company's accounting reference period and its individual circumstances, so it is not the same date for every company. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline based on that period, but the exact date should always be checked for your company. If annual accounts are filed after the relevant deadline, Companies House can impose late filing penalties — these relate to the accounts and are separate from HMRC Corporation Tax filing or payment deadlines.
The information filed can vary with company size, the applicable accounting framework, exemptions and current Companies House requirements, so not every company files an identical set. Depending on those factors, annual accounts may include a balance sheet, a profit and loss account, notes to the accounts and other required statements or information. Micro-entity accounts prepared under FRS 105, for example, typically include less detail than accounts prepared under a fuller framework.
No. Annual accounts filed with Companies House are separate from a Company Tax Return (CT600) submitted to HMRC. Information from the accounts may be used when preparing the company's Corporation Tax computation and CT600, but filing annual accounts with Companies House does not itself constitute filing a Corporation Tax Return with HMRC. Each has its own process and its own deadline.
No — they are different filings with different purposes. Annual accounts set out your company's financial position and performance for the accounting period, while a confirmation statement confirms that details such as the registered office, directors and shareholders are correct. Many companies need to file both, and Companies House treats them as separate obligations.
A dormant company may still have Annual Accounts Filing responsibilities with Companies House. Being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically mean the company is exempt from filing annual accounts, and dormant accounts may still need to be prepared and submitted where required. The position depends on the company's circumstances, so it is worth checking what applies to yours.
Some companies may qualify for the micro-entities regime and prepare accounts using FRS 105 where the regime applies and is chosen, which can make Annual Accounts Filing simpler because the accounts contain less detail. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least two of three conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average number of employees of no more than 10, subject to applicable rules and exclusions. Meeting those figures does not automatically mean a company qualifies.
