I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are the financial statements a company prepares for a specific accounting period, showing information about its financial position and performance for that period. They are prepared under the accounting framework that applies to the company and, where required, are filed with Companies House. The contents can differ depending on the company's size, dormant status and any available exemptions.
Annual Accounts Filing responsibilities generally apply to UK limited companies, subject to their individual circumstances and any applicable exemptions. This can include micro-entities, dormant companies, one-director companies and other eligible small limited companies. Because the requirements are not identical for every company, it is worth confirming your own position based on your size, accounting period and filing exemptions.
The filing deadline depends on the company's circumstances and its accounting reference period, so there is no single date that applies to every company. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline linked to their accounting reference period, but the exact date should be checked for the individual company. Directors remain responsible for making sure accounts are filed on time, even when someone else prepares and submits them.
Annual accounts for a limited company are generally filed with Companies House, which is separate from HMRC. Filing annual accounts with Companies House does not itself constitute filing a Company Tax Return, and a CT600 is submitted to HMRC separately. Information from the accounts may be used when preparing the company's Corporation Tax computation, but the two filings are distinct obligations.
Depending on the company's size and applicable reporting requirements, annual accounts may include a balance sheet, a profit and loss account, notes and other required statements or information. Smaller companies often file a reduced set of information, and micro-entities using the micro-entities regime may prepare accounts under FRS 105 where that regime applies and is chosen. Not every company files an identical set of accounts, as what is included depends on the applicable framework and exemptions.
No. Annual accounts filed with Companies House are separate from a Company Tax Return (CT600) submitted to HMRC, and they are also separate from a confirmation statement. A confirmation statement confirms company details such as directors, registered office and share information, while annual accounts report on the company's financial position and performance. Each has its own filing route, deadline and purpose.
Dormant companies may still have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House, so being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically remove the need to file. What is prepared and submitted can be simpler where the company has not traded, but the position depends on the company's circumstances and applicable exemptions. It is worth checking whether dormant accounts are the correct route for your company.
Companies House can impose late filing penalties when annual accounts are submitted after the relevant deadline. Late filing penalties relating to Companies House annual accounts are separate from HMRC Corporation Tax filing or payment deadlines, so it helps to keep the two sets of dates apart. Directors remain responsible for meeting deadlines, which is why early preparation and a clear filing timetable can make a real difference.
