I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Confirmation Statement Requirements
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.
Filing Deadline
If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.
Company Information
Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.
People & Shares
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once in each 12-month review period, within 14 days of the review period ending.

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, usually at least once every 12 months. That includes active trading companies, dormant companies, and companies that are not currently trading. Thornton-Cleveleys businesses of every size fall into this group, and the requirement is about confirming your company information — not about reporting profits or paying tax.
- Active limited companies and limited liability partnerships that appear on the Companies House register
- Dormant companies that have no significant accounting transactions but are still registered
- Non-trading or temporarily inactive companies that have not yet been struck off or dissolved
- Companies whose directors, shareholders, registered office or people with significant control details have changed
- Company directors and officers who are responsible for keeping the register accurate
- Newly formed companies that have since reached their first confirmation statement due date

What Is a Confirmation Statement?
A confirmation statement (often referred to as the CS01) is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date as at a specific date. It is a check of your company record, not a set of financial statements, and it is separate from your statutory accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
- Registered office address and single alternative inspection location (SAIL) address where applicable
- Company name, company number and the type of company
- Directors, secretaries and their details as recorded on the register
- Shareholders, share capital, shares issued and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the nature of their control
- Standard industrial classification (SIC) code and the principal business activity
- Statement of compliance confirming the company has complied with its filing obligations
- Details of any changes that need to be reported separately rather than left until the confirmation statement is filed

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information they hold about your company is correct and up to date as at a particular date. It is sometimes called a CS01. It is not a financial document, so you do not submit profit figures or tax calculations with it — you are confirming the details already on the register, or reporting what has changed. A confirmation statement is a completely separate requirement from statutory annual accounts and from a Corporation Tax Return.
Most companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, and that normally includes dormant companies. Being dormant, not trading, or having had no income during the period does not usually remove the requirement — the obligation comes from being on the register rather than from your trading activity. If your company is dormant but still registered, or if you are unsure how your circumstances apply, it is worth checking your position before assuming no filing is needed, because the rules can depend on your specific situation.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. That 12-month window is a review period, and it runs separately from your accounting period and your annual accounts deadline, so do not assume the two dates line up. Your company's confirmation statement date appears on your Companies House record. If you are close to your due date, it is sensible to prepare early so any changes can be reviewed properly before the filing is made.
Yes. A company can file more than one confirmation statement during a review period if its information changes and the directors want the register to reflect that sooner rather than later. This is optional in many cases, but it can be useful after events such as an appointment or resignation of a director, a share transfer, or an update to a person with significant control's details. Remember that certain changes may need to be reported separately to Companies House rather than waiting for the next confirmation statement to be filed.
The confirmation statement is a chance to check the core details on your Companies House record: your registered office address, company name and number, directors and secretary details, shareholders and the statement of capital, people with significant control and the nature of their control, and your SIC code. If something has changed, it may need to be reported separately — a confirmation statement does not automatically update every type of detail on its own. Part of good Confirmation Statement Filing is spotting what has changed and making sure it is handled in the right way.
These are three distinct filings with different purposes. A confirmation statement confirms that Companies House holds accurate information about your company, effectively checking the register. Annual accounts report your company's financial position and performance for an accounting period and are filed at Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report your company's taxable profits and calculate the tax due. Filing a confirmation statement does not satisfy your accounts or Corporation Tax obligations, and it does not by itself make your company compliant with every filing requirement. Likewise, VAT Returns are a separate HMRC obligation where a company is VAT registered.
If a confirmation statement is not filed when it is due, the company's record can show the filing as outstanding, and Companies House may follow up. Leaving it unresolved is not something to ignore, as there can be consequences for the company and potentially for its directors. You can resolve an overdue confirmation statement by filing it, along with any information updates that are needed. If you have fallen behind, it is worth addressing it promptly and checking the current position with Companies House or a professional adviser.
We start by reviewing your company's current Companies House record so we can see what is on file and what may need updating. You confirm or correct the relevant details — directors, shareholders, PSCs, addresses and the like — and we prepare the confirmation statement and arrange for it to be submitted. If any changes need to be reported separately, we will explain what that involves. For Confirmation Statement Filing in Thornton-Cleveleys, you can simply get in touch with Micro Entity Accounts and we will take it from there, keeping the process clear, straightforward and tailored to your company.
