I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.

I had a positive experience with Accotax. The work was completed promptly, my tax return was successfully filed, and I received a refund of overpaid tax. I found the cooperation efficient and helpful. Special thanks to Muhammad Saifullah for his assistance.

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Tavistock?

Most companies registered in the UK are required to file a confirmation statement with Companies House, and that includes companies based in and around Tavistock. Being dormant, quiet, or not currently trading does not normally remove that requirement — a company's obligation to confirm its details generally remains even when there is little or no activity to report.

  • Active UK limited companies and limited liability partnerships
  • Dormant companies that are not currently trading or receiving income
  • Non-trading companies that still hold a registered office or a bank account
  • Companies whose directors, shareholders, or people with significant control have changed
  • Newly incorporated companies approaching their first filing point
  • Company directors who want the confirmation statement handled accurately rather than left to chance

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Confirm?

A confirmation statement — often referred to as the CS01 — is the filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is a separate requirement from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return, and it is not a tax filing or a financial statement of any kind.

  • The registered office address held on the public register
  • Details of the company's directors, and company secretary where applicable
  • Shareholder information and details of issued share capital
  • People with significant control (PSCs) and their recorded details
  • The nature of the company's business, such as its SIC codes
  • The company's registered email address and other applicable information
  • A statement that the intended future activities of the company are lawful

─── FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.

A confirmation statement, often called a CS01, is the filing a company sends to Companies House to confirm that the information on the public register about that company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document. It does not replace your annual accounts, and it is not a tax return of any kind — its purpose is simply to confirm the company's recorded details.

Any UK company registered at Companies House will generally need to file a confirmation statement, whether it is based in Tavistock or elsewhere. This includes companies that are actively trading, companies that are dormant, and companies that are not currently trading but remain registered. If your company is on the register, it is worth checking what is due rather than assuming you are exempt.

A company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, measured over its own review period rather than its accounting period. Companies can also file more than one confirmation statement during a review period where the company's information has changed and they want the register updated sooner. The confirmation statement deadline is separate from the annual accounts deadline, so the two should not be confused.

Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement. A dormant company still exists on the register at Companies House, so the information held about it still needs to be confirmed at least once every 12 months, even when there has been no trading activity or income during that period.

Before filing, it is worth confirming your registered office address, your directors and company secretary details, your shareholders and share capital, your people with significant control, your registered email address, and the SIC codes that describe your business activity. If any of that information has changed, the register may need updating as well as confirming — and some changes must be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement.

No. These are three different filings with different purposes. The confirmation statement confirms that Companies House holds accurate information about the company. Annual accounts report the company's financial position and performance. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report taxable profits. Filing a confirmation statement does not satisfy your accounts or tax obligations, and filing accounts or a CT600 does not replace the confirmation statement.

If a confirmation statement is not filed, Companies House may take action against the company and its directors. Continued failure to file can ultimately lead to the company being struck off the register. Because the consequences can escalate, it is far easier to keep on top of the filing date, or to have a professional service monitor it on your behalf, than to deal with the aftermath.

You share the details of your company and any changes that have taken place since the last filing. We check that the recorded information is accurate, prepare the confirmation statement, and complete the confirmation statement submission to Companies House. Where information needs updating first, we can help with Companies House information updates so that what you confirm is genuinely correct. You get a clear, transparent process and one less deadline to worry about.
