I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.

I had a positive experience with Accotax. The work was completed promptly, my tax return was successfully filed, and I received a refund of overpaid tax. I found the cooperation efficient and helpful. Special thanks to Muhammad Saifullah for his assistance.

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?

A confirmation statement is a filing made at Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date as at a specific date. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a check on your company record, sometimes referred to as a CS01 filing.

  • Registered office address and company name
  • Directors, secretaries and their service addresses
  • Shareholders and the shares they hold
  • People with significant control (PSC) information
  • Standard industrial classification (SIC) code and business activities
  • Statement of capital where relevant
  • Details of any share transfers or allotments during the review period
  • Confirmation that the company is still trading, dormant or otherwise, as applicable

─── FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.

A confirmation statement is a document filed with Companies House to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date as at a given date. It is not a financial filing — it does not report profit, loss or tax. Think of it as a regular check on your company record: registered office, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and other applicable details.

Most UK limited companies need to file a confirmation statement, including companies registered in Strabane. The requirement generally applies whether the company is actively trading, dormant, or not trading at all. If you are unsure whether your particular company must file — for example because of an unusual structure or an insolvency process — it is worth checking the company's own record and current Companies House guidance rather than assuming an exemption applies.

Generally, a company must file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, calculated from the date of its last statement or its incorporation. This 12-month review period is separate from your accounting period and from your annual accounts deadline. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within a single review period if company information has changed and you want the register updated sooner.

Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the obligation to file a confirmation statement. Dormancy affects what you report for tax and accounts purposes, but the confirmation statement is about company information at Companies House, so the requirement usually continues. If your company is dormant, we simply confirm the register details are correct and file on that basis.

They are two completely separate filings. Annual accounts are the company's financial statements — they report figures such as assets, liabilities and results for an accounting period, and are filed at Companies House and used for Corporation Tax purposes. A confirmation statement contains no financial figures. It only confirms that company information such as directors, shareholders and registered office details is correct. Filing one does not satisfy the other.

A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is a tax filing made to HMRC, reporting the company's taxable profits and calculating the tax due. A confirmation statement is filed with Companies House and confirms company information. They go to different authorities, serve different purposes and have their own deadlines. Filing a confirmation statement does not mean you have filed a Corporation Tax Return, and it does not make your company compliant with every Companies House or tax obligation.

Some changes can be confirmed within the confirmation statement itself, while others must be reported to Companies House separately and sometimes quite quickly — for example certain changes to directors, share capital or registered office details. It is not always possible to simply wait until the next confirmation statement. We review what has changed, tell you which updates need their own filing, and handle the relevant submissions so nothing gets missed.

Failing to file a confirmation statement is a breach of the filing requirement, and Companies House can take enforcement action. In serious or prolonged cases, Companies House may begin the process of removing the company from the register, which can affect the company's bank account, contracts and assets. Because the consequences depend on the company's circumstances, the safest approach is to file on time or speak to us as soon as you realise a statement is overdue.

You share the details of any changes, and we check them against the information currently held at Companies House. We then prepare the confirmation statement, confirm what will be filed, submit it and keep a record for your files. If something on the register looks wrong, we flag it and explain what needs updating. It is a straightforward process designed to remove the guesswork from CS01 filing.

Get in touch with the details of your company, including its name and company number, and let us know of any changes since the last statement — new directors, a different registered office, share changes or updated PSC information. We will confirm what needs to be filed, explain the options clearly, and take it from there. You do not need to prepare anything complicated; we will guide you through what is needed.
