I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Which Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies must file a confirmation statement with Companies House at least once every 12 months, even if they are dormant, not trading or have had no changes to report. The confirmation statement simply confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is correct as at the confirmation date. It is not the same as filing annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return, and filing one does not remove your other filing obligations.
- UK limited companies, whether limited by shares or by guarantee
- Dormant companies, which normally still need to file even with no activity
- Non-trading companies that have not yet started to trade
- Companies with a single director or a single shareholder
- Limited liability partnerships and other entities that file an annual confirmation
- Companies whose details have changed during the year, where more than one confirmation statement may be filed

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Confirm?
A confirmation statement (often referred to as form CS01) is the document a company uses to confirm that the information Companies House holds about it is accurate and up to date as at a given date. It is a separate filing from your statutory annual accounts and from your Corporation Tax Return, and it does not replace either of them. Filing it tells Companies House that your recorded details are correct — or highlights what needs to change.
- Registered office address and, where applicable, other address details
- Directors, company secretary and their recorded particulars
- Shareholders, share capital and the details held in the register of members
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the information held about them
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes describing the company's business activity
- The statement of lawful purpose and confirmation that the company's details are correct
- Where something has changed, the change may need to be reported separately — for example, appointing a director or updating PSC information — rather than waiting for the confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date as at a particular date. It is often called a CS01. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a check that details such as your registered office, directors, shareholders and people with significant control are correct. If something has changed, you normally need to report that change to Companies House as well, either before or alongside the confirmation statement.
The requirement applies to companies registered in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, so a company based in Purley follows the same rules as one anywhere else in the UK. In general, UK limited companies — including those limited by shares and by guarantee — need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, and limited liability partnerships and certain other entities file an equivalent. Dormant and non-trading companies are usually not exempt, so it is worth checking your own company's position if you are unsure.
Most companies need to file at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed. The 12-month period runs from your confirmation date or the date of your last confirmation statement, and it is tracked separately from your accounting period or accounts deadline. You are not limited to one filing a year: if your company information changes during a review period, you can file a further confirmation statement to bring the record up to date rather than waiting for the next 12-month point.
The confirmation statement confirms the details Companies House already holds, which typically include the registered office address, directors and company secretary, shareholders and share capital, people with significant control, and the SIC codes describing your company's activity. Where those details are wrong or out of date, the confirmation statement is not usually the place to correct them — changes such as a new director, a change of address or an update to PSC information are normally reported separately using the relevant Companies House forms. A professional service will check what has changed and make sure the right filings are made.
In most cases, yes. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, and Companies House still expects the record to be kept up to date. A dormant company may have very little to confirm, but the confirmation statement itself is still due. This is separate from whether the company needs to prepare accounts or fill in a Corporation Tax Return, which depends on its own circumstances. It is always worth confirming your position if your company has been inactive for some time.
They are three distinct filings for three different purposes. A confirmation statement confirms that Companies House holds the correct information about your company and is filed at Companies House. Annual accounts are the company's statutory financial statements — usually accounts plus a profit and loss account and notes — also filed at Companies House for the financial year. A Corporation Tax Return (often called a CT600) is a tax filing made to HMRC reporting the company's taxable profits and calculating the Corporation Tax due. Filing one does not satisfy the others, and each has its own deadline.
If a confirmation statement is not filed when it is due, Companies House can take action, and persistent failure to file can be a factor in the company being struck off the register. The consequences depend on the individual company's situation and how long the filing has been outstanding. Because the confirmation statement is a legal filing requirement for most companies, it is far simpler to keep on top of it — or let a professional service monitor the date and submit it on your behalf — than to deal with the fallout afterwards.
With a professional service, you share the details of your company and confirm what has changed since the last confirmation statement. The team checks the information held at Companies House, updates what needs updating using the correct forms, prepares the confirmation statement and submits it on your behalf, keeping you informed of what has been filed. To get started, simply get in contact with your company name, company number and the date of your last confirmation statement, and you will be guided through the rest. If you are a director of a company in Purley with a filing date coming up, it is worth getting in touch sooner rather than later.
