We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Which Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Confirmation Statement Filing is a routine requirement for most companies registered at Companies House, including companies based in Rathmell and throughout North Yorkshire. It applies whether the company is actively trading, dormant, or simply not trading at present — being quiet does not normally remove the obligation.
- UK limited companies registered in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland
- Dormant companies that are not currently trading or receiving income
- Non-trading companies with no active business activity in the review period
- Companies limited by guarantee, including many clubs, associations and charities that are incorporated
- Community interest companies and other incorporated social enterprises
- Single-director, single-shareholder companies and owner-managed businesses
- Subsidiary companies and companies with multiple shareholders or share classes
- Limited liability partnerships, which also have a confirmation statement obligation

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?
A confirmation statement — often called the CS01 — is the statutory filing used to confirm that the information Companies House already holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is a separate requirement from your annual accounts and from your Corporation Tax Return, and it is not a financial filing.
- Registered office address and the registered email address Companies House holds for the company
- Director, secretary and company officer details, including appointments and resignations
- Shareholder information, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSC) details and the nature of their control
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and the stated nature of the company's business
- Company name, registered number and the date of the confirmation statement being filed
- Confirmation that the information on the register is correct, or that changes have been notified
- Where information has changed, some updates may need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than only through the confirmation statement
- Where things change during a review period, a company can file more than one confirmation statement if it chooses to

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement, also known as the CS01, is a statutory filing made at Companies House that confirms the information already held about your company is accurate and up to date. You are not supplying full accounts or a tax calculation — you are confirming the register is correct, or reporting the changes that need to be reflected. It sits alongside, rather than instead of, your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
Most companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, whatever their size or turnover, and that includes companies based in Rathmell and the surrounding North Yorkshire area. The requirement normally applies to actively trading companies, non-trading companies and dormant companies alike. If you are unsure whether your particular entity has a confirmation statement obligation, we can look at your circumstances and explain the position clearly.
As a general rule, a company needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, counted from the date of the last confirmation statement (or from incorporation for a new company). There is a short window after that anniversary date in which the filing is normally expected. Importantly, you can file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if your company information changes and you want the register updated sooner.
The confirmation statement covers the core details on the public register: the registered office address, the registered email address, director and secretary details, shareholder and share capital information, people with significant control, and the SIC code describing the company's business activity. Some changes, such as certain appointments, resignations or PSC updates, need to be notified to Companies House on separate forms rather than waiting for the confirmation statement, which is why a proper check of the register matters.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, even if the company has had no income or activity during the period. A dormant company may have fewer changes to report, but the confirmation statement itself is still due, and it remains separate from any dormant company accounts you may also need to prepare.
No — they are two different filings with different purposes. A confirmation statement confirms the company information held by Companies House is correct; annual accounts report the company's financial position and performance for an accounting period. The confirmation statement is not tied to your accounting period in the way that accounts are, and filing one does not satisfy your accounts obligation, nor does filing accounts remove the need for a confirmation statement.
A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report the company's taxable profits or losses for an accounting period. A confirmation statement is submitted to Companies House and contains no tax or profit figures at all. They are handled by different bodies, follow different deadlines and serve completely separate purposes, so one never replaces the other.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, Companies House may pursue the company and, if the position is left unresolved, can take further action — which in serious cases may include steps to strike the company off the register. The practical answer is to keep on top of the filing date. Our professional Confirmation Statement Filing service takes the deadline off your plate: we review the information on the register, flag anything that needs updating, prepare your confirmation statement submission, and confirm when it has been filed, so the process is accurate, documented and easy to manage.
