I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.

Which UK Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most companies registered at Companies House need Confirmation Statement Filing in Northenden — whether they are trading actively, sitting dormant, or simply not trading yet. The obligation comes from being a registered company, not from how busy your business happens to be, and it sits separately from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
- Limited companies registered in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland
- Dormant companies that have had no significant transactions during the period
- Non-trading companies that are registered but not currently active
- Companies limited by guarantee and other company types where Companies House requires a confirmation statement
- Companies whose directors, shareholders, registered office or PSC details have changed
- Directors and business owners who would rather have the filing prepared and submitted accurately on their behalf

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does Companies House Need One?
A confirmation statement — often referred to as a CS01 — is the filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is a check on your company record rather than a financial document, and it is a completely separate requirement from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
- Confirming your registered office address and company name details
- Checking the directors shown on the register, and the company secretary where one is appointed
- Reviewing shareholder information, including share capital and any share transfers
- Confirming people with significant control (PSC) information
- Confirming your SIC code and the statement of lawful purpose
- Noting the confirmation date and the review period the statement covers
- Recognising that some changes — such as appointments, resignations or address moves — need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is the Companies House filing that confirms the information held on the public register about your company is correct and current. It is not a financial statement — you do not report turnover, profit or tax on it. Instead, you confirm details such as your registered office, directors, shareholders, people with significant control, and your SIC code. Companies House generally requires one at least once every 12 months, and you can file more than once in a review period if your details change.
If your company is registered at Companies House, Confirmation Statement Filing is almost certainly part of your ongoing obligations, regardless of whether you trade, make sales or have any activity at all. That covers private limited companies, dormant companies, non-trading companies and companies limited by guarantee, among others. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships that are not registered as companies at Companies House do not file a confirmation statement. If you are unsure which category your business falls into, it is worth checking your company record before the next confirmation date.
A UK company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. Companies House works from a confirmation date and a review period, and this is separate from your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if something changes and you want the register updated sooner. You can generally bring a confirmation date forward to shorten a review period, but a review period cannot be extended beyond 12 months. It is always worth checking your own company's confirmation date on the Companies House register rather than assuming it lines up with your year end.
Before filing, you confirm the company information Companies House already holds: the registered office address, the company name, the directors and company secretary where applicable, shareholder and share capital details, people with significant control, and the SIC code and statement of lawful purpose. If any of those details are wrong or out of date, simply confirming them is not enough — the change usually needs to be reported separately, using the appropriate Companies House form or online update. A professional service can review the record with you, flag the gaps, and make sure the confirmation statement and any separate updates are handled properly.
Yes, in most cases. Dormancy relates to your tax position and how you prepare accounts — it does not remove the requirement to keep your Companies House record up to date. A dormant or non-trading company still has directors, shareholders and a registered office on the register, and Companies House still expects a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. The content of the filing is still straightforward, but the filing itself still needs to happen.
No — these are three distinct filings. The confirmation statement confirms that the information on the Companies House register is accurate. Annual accounts are your statutory financial statements, also filed with Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC to report your company's taxable profit and calculate Corporation Tax. Filing one of these does not satisfy the others, and each has its own requirements and its own timetable. It is also worth noting that VAT Returns are separate again, and relate to VAT rather than company record keeping.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, your company record becomes out of date and Companies House may take enforcement action. Continued non-compliance can ultimately put the company at risk of being struck off the register, which can affect bank accounts, contracts and any assets held by the company. It is far easier to address the filing promptly than to deal with the consequences of leaving it outstanding, so if you have missed a confirmation date it is worth acting on it as soon as you can.
With a professional service, you provide or confirm your company details, and the filing is prepared on your behalf. The process usually involves reviewing your current Companies House record, identifying anything that needs to be updated separately, preparing and submitting the confirmation statement, and confirming back to you once it has been filed.
