We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Confirmation Statement Requirements
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm the information on the public register each year, even where nothing has changed and the company is not trading.
Filing Deadline
If your company pays even one director a salary, you must operate PAYE and file RTI submissions with HMRC.
Company Information
Once any employee earns above the Lower Earnings Limit, RTI payroll filing becomes a legal obligation each pay period.
People & Shares
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once in each 12-month review period, within 14 days of the review period ending.

Which Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK companies registered at Companies House need to complete Confirmation Statement Filing at least once every 12 months, whether they are actively trading, dormant or simply not trading at present. A confirmation statement is a separate filing from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return, so it still applies even when there has been no trading activity to report.
- Limited companies registered in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
- Dormant companies that are not currently trading or receiving income
- Non-trading and newly incorporated companies
- Companies whose directors, shareholders or registered office details have changed
- Companies with a confirmation statement review period that has come around again
- Companies that have already filed and now need to report a change during the same review period

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?
A confirmation statement (often called the CS01) is the document used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial filing — it is a check that the public record reflects what is actually happening in your company.
- Your registered office address and the company's registered details
- The names and details of your directors and company secretary where applicable
- Your shareholders, share capital and shareholdings
- People with Significant Control (PSC) information
- Your Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and nature of business
- Any other applicable company information Companies House requires you to confirm
- It is not annual accounts — statutory accounts are a separate filing with financial information
- It is not a Corporation Tax Return (CT600) or a VAT Return, which are handled separately with HMRC

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing you send to Companies House to confirm that the information it holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document and does not include a profit and loss account or balance sheet. Its job is simply to keep the public register correct — confirming your registered office, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and other applicable company details.
In most cases, yes. UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even when nothing has changed and even if the company is dormant or not trading. Your confirmation statement review period runs separately from your accounting period, so the two dates do not necessarily line up. If you are unsure when your next one is due, the date can be checked on your company's Companies House record.
Yes. You can file more than one confirmation statement during a review period when information changes, and some companies choose to do so to keep the register current. It is worth noting that certain changes — such as a change of registered office, the appointment or resignation of a director, or an allotment of shares — may need to be reported to Companies House separately rather than waiting for the next confirmation statement.
They are two completely separate filings. A confirmation statement confirms that Companies House holds the right information about your company. Annual accounts, by contrast, are statutory financial statements showing the company's financial position and results for an accounting period. Filing one does not satisfy the requirement to file the other, and the deadlines are based on different periods.
No. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is submitted to HMRC and deals with the tax the company owes, whereas a confirmation statement is submitted to Companies House and deals with company information. A VAT Return is also filed separately with HMRC. A confirmation statement is not a tax filing, and completing it does not mean your Companies House or tax obligations are fully covered.
Generally yes. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement. A dormant company still exists on the register, so shareholders, directors and registered office details still need confirming. A dormant company may have some relief from certain other filing requirements depending on its circumstances, but the confirmation statement usually still applies.
Failing to file is not something to ignore. Companies House can take action against a company that does not deliver its confirmation statement, and persistent non-filing can ultimately lead to the company being struck off the register. If you realise a statement is overdue, the sensible step is to get the information checked and the CS01 filing submitted as soon as possible rather than waiting.
We start by reviewing the information currently held by Companies House, then check it against the details you provide. If anything needs amending — a director's details, a shareholding or a registered office — we help with those Companies House information updates, then prepare and submit the confirmation statement. You get clear, transparent pricing, straightforward communication and confirmation once your CS01 filing has been made. To begin, simply get in touch with your company details and your next review date if you have it to hand.
