We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Lingfield?
If you run a company registered at Companies House, you will usually need Confirmation Statement Filing in Lingfield at least once every 12 months. The requirement normally applies to active companies, dormant companies and companies that are not currently trading, because the confirmation statement is about the information on the register rather than how busy the business is.
- Active limited companies and limited liability partnerships on the Companies House register
- Dormant companies that are not trading or receiving income
- Non-trading companies that have paused activity but remain registered
- Companies where directors, shareholders or people with significant control have changed during the review period
- Newly incorporated companies approaching their first confirmation statement
- Directors who want to be confident the information Companies House holds is correct before they confirm it

What Is a Confirmation Statement and Why Does It Matter?
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is not a financial document and it is not a way of filing accounts — it is a check that the public record is correct, and it takes only a moment once the details have been reviewed.
- Confirms the registered office address and, where applicable, the address where company records are kept
- Confirms the directors, the company secretary (if there is one) and their service addresses
- Confirms shareholder information, share capital and the statement of capital
- Confirms details of people with significant control (PSCs) and any changes to them
- Confirms the company name, the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and other register details
- Allows you to state that the information is correct, or to report changes separately using the appropriate forms
- Is entirely separate from annual accounts and from a Corporation Tax Return (CT600)
- Can be filed more than once during a review period if company information changes and you want the record updated sooner

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information Companies House already holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is often referred to as a CS01 filing. It is not a set of accounts and it does not report profit, tax or VAT. Instead, it is a check on the public record — your registered office, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and other company details. If everything is correct, you simply confirm it. If something has changed, that change may need to be reported separately, sometimes before the confirmation statement is filed.
In general, most entities registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, including limited companies, limited liability partnerships and other registrable bodies. The requirement normally applies whether the company is active, dormant or simply not trading at the moment. Sole traders and ordinary partnerships that are not registered at Companies House do not file confirmation statements, because they are not companies on the register. If you are unsure whether your particular entity needs to file, it is worth checking your company's filing history or speaking to someone who handles these filings regularly.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if the company is dormant or not trading. Companies House sets a review period for each company, and the statement is filed for that period. A company can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if information changes and the directors want the register updated sooner. The confirmation statement cycle is separate from the company's accounting period and from the annual accounts deadline, so it needs to be tracked in its own right.
The confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds is correct. In practice that includes the registered office address, the directors and company secretary where applicable, the shareholders and share capital, details of people with significant control, and the company's SIC code. Some changes — such as appointing or resigning a director, moving the registered office, or updating share information — must be reported on separate forms. Those changes are not made simply by confirming the statement, so it is important to check the register before you file rather than after.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the statement deals with the company's details on the public register rather than its trading activity or tax position. A dormant company may still have a registered office, directors and shareholders to confirm. Filing a confirmation statement does not mean the company is trading, and it does not replace annual accounts or any tax filing obligations the company may have. Each requirement stands on its own.
No — they are two completely different filings with different purposes. Annual accounts are the company's financial statements, showing its financial position and performance for the accounting period, and they are filed at Companies House alongside the company's tax reporting to HMRC. A confirmation statement contains no financial figures at all. It simply confirms that the non-financial information on the register is accurate. Meeting one of these requirements does not satisfy the other, so both need to be tracked separately.
A Corporation Tax Return, usually the CT600, is a tax filing made to HMRC. It reports the company's taxable profits, allowances and the Corporation Tax due for an accounting period. A confirmation statement is filed with Companies House and contains no tax or profit information whatsoever. The two are handled by different authorities, follow different timescales and serve entirely different purposes. Filing one has no effect on the other, and a company may need to complete both within the same year.
If a confirmation statement is not filed, the company falls behind with its Companies House obligations. Companies House can take action against companies that fail to file, and continued non-filing can have serious consequences for the company and its directors, including the possibility of the company being struck off the register. Professional Confirmation Statement Filing takes the guesswork out of it: the information Companies House holds is reviewed, anything that needs updating is identified, the CS01 is prepared and submitted, and you are told when it has been filed. To get started, simply share your company details and the rest is handled for you.
