I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Which Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing in Hexham?
Most UK companies need to send a confirmation statement to Companies House at least once every 12 months, whatever their trading position. That includes companies based in Hexham and across Northumberland. Being dormant or not currently trading does not normally remove the requirement to file one, because the confirmation statement is about the accuracy of your Companies House record rather than about profit, tax or turnover.
- Active companies that have traded, invoiced customers or employed staff during the period
- Dormant companies with no significant accounting transactions, which still normally need to file
- Non-trading companies that remain active on the Companies House register
- Companies limited by shares or by guarantee, plus limited liability partnerships filing their equivalent statement
- Directors and company secretaries responsible for keeping company information up to date

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Is It For?
A confirmation statement, often called a CS01, is a filing sent to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date on the date you make the statement. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a checkpoint on your company record. If something on that record has changed, you either update it as part of your Confirmation Statement Filing or report the change separately using the appropriate Companies House route.
- The company's registered office address and registered email address where applicable
- Directors, secretary and their details, including any appointments or resignations
- Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the nature of their control
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes reflecting what the company does
- Any changes that must be reported separately rather than waiting for the confirmation statement
- Confirmation that the information Companies House holds is correct as at the statement date

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement, also known as a CS01, is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held on your company record is accurate and up to date as at the date of the statement. It covers things such as your registered office address, directors, shareholders, people with significant control and your statement of capital. It is not a financial document — it does not report profit, turnover or tax — and it is a completely separate filing from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
If you run a company registered in England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, you will normally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, and that applies to companies based in Hexham just as it does anywhere else in the UK. The requirement applies to companies limited by shares, companies limited by guarantee and, in a broadly equivalent form, limited liability partnerships. Whether your company is trading actively, sitting quietly or officially dormant, you should assume a confirmation statement is due unless your circumstances clearly say otherwise. If you are unsure, it is worth checking your company's filing history on the Companies House register.
UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed and even if the company is dormant or not trading. This 12-month filing cycle runs from the date of your last confirmation statement, not from your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline, and the two should not be confused. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if your company information changes and you want your record updated sooner — for example after a change of director or a share transfer.
Before filing, you should check that Companies House holds the right details for your company. That typically means the registered office address, the registered email address where applicable, the directors and company secretary, the shareholders and statement of capital, the people with significant control and their nature of control, and the SIC codes describing your business activities. Some changes, such as appointing a director or changing a registered office, need to be reported to Companies House separately using the appropriate form rather than simply being confirmed on the confirmation statement. We can help you work out which route applies.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the confirmation statement is about the accuracy of your company's public record rather than about trading activity or tax. A dormant company still has details on the register — a registered office, at least one director, and often shareholders and PSCs — and those details still need confirming. Filing a confirmation statement is also not the same as filing dormant accounts, which is a separate requirement.
These are three separate obligations. The confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. Annual accounts are the statutory financial statements you file with Companies House, showing your company's financial position for the accounting period. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is filed with HMRC to report your company's taxable profits and calculate the Corporation Tax due. Filing one of these does not satisfy the others, and each has its own deadline and purpose. A confirmation statement does not make a company compliant with every Companies House or tax obligation on its own.
Failing to file your confirmation statement when it is due can lead to action by Companies House, and it can also affect the standing of your company record and how easily you can demonstrate your details are current. Prolonged non-filing can ultimately result in steps being taken to remove the company from the register. Because the consequences depend on the company's particular circumstances and how long the position has been outstanding, it is always best to put it right as soon as possible rather than waiting. If you have fallen behind, we can help you work out where you stand and what to do next.
We start by reviewing the information Companies House currently holds about your company and checking it against what you tell us. Where details need updating, we help you deal with those changes correctly, either alongside the confirmation statement or through the appropriate separate notification. We then prepare and submit your confirmation statement, confirm it has been filed, and keep you informed along the way. To get started, simply get in touch with your company details and we will explain what is needed for your next Confirmation Statement Filing.
