I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.

I had a positive experience with Accotax. The work was completed promptly, my tax return was successfully filed, and I received a refund of overpaid tax. I found the cooperation efficient and helpful. Special thanks to Muhammad Saifullah for his assistance.

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Feniton?

Most companies registered in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland need to file a confirmation statement with Companies House at least once every 12 months. This includes active trading companies, dormant companies, non-trading companies, and companies that have had a quiet year with little or no activity. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file.

  • Limited companies and limited liability partnerships registered at Companies House
  • Dormant companies that are not currently trading or receiving income
  • Non-trading companies that are between projects or being wound down
  • Companies whose directors, shareholders or people with significant control have changed
  • Companies whose registered office address, SIC codes or share details need checking
  • Business owners who want a professional service to prepare and submit the CS01 filing

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Do?

A confirmation statement is a filing used to confirm that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate and up to date. It is sometimes called a CS01, and it is a separate filing from your annual accounts and from your Corporation Tax Return. Filing one does not settle your accounts or tax obligations — it simply confirms your company record.

  • Registered office address and registered email address details
  • Company directors, secretaries and their appointments or resignations
  • Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
  • People with significant control (PSC) information
  • Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes describing what the company does
  • The confirmation date and the statement that the information is correct
  • A reminder that certain changes must be reported to Companies House separately, often before the confirmation statement is due

─── FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.

A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It is often referred to as a CS01. It is not a financial document and it does not replace your annual accounts or your Corporation Tax Return. Its job is to keep the public register correct, so anyone checking your company record sees the right directors, shareholders, registered office and other key details.

If your company is registered at Companies House, you will generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, wherever in the UK you are based — including Feniton. That applies whether the company is actively trading, dormant, not currently trading, or simply sitting quietly between projects. Limited liability partnerships are also normally within scope. If you are unsure about your own company's position, it is worth checking your filing history at Companies House or asking an accountant to confirm.

UK companies generally need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed since the last one. That 12-month cycle is known as a review period and it runs from a set confirmation date. You can also file more than one confirmation statement within a review period if information changes and you want the register updated sooner. It is important not to confuse this cycle with your accounting period or your annual accounts deadline, which follow their own separate timetables.

Before filing, you should review the details Companies House already holds about your company. That typically means the registered office address, directors and secretaries, shareholders and the statement of capital, people with significant control, and your SIC codes describing the company's activities. If any of it looks out of date, it needs correcting. Some changes can be made as part of the confirmation statement process, while others must be reported to Companies House separately — often straight away rather than waiting for your next confirmation statement.

Yes, in most cases a dormant company still needs to file a confirmation statement. Dormancy affects what you report for accounting and tax purposes, but it does not normally remove the obligation to confirm that your Companies House record is correct. A dormant company still has directors, shareholders, a registered office and a confirmation date, and Companies House still needs to know that information is up to date.

They are two completely separate filings with different purposes. A confirmation statement confirms that the information on the public register is correct — who the directors are, who the shareholders are, where the company is registered and so on. Annual accounts report the company's financial position and performance for an accounting period. Filing one does not satisfy the other, and both have their own deadlines. A confirmation statement is also different again from a Corporation Tax Return (CT600), which is filed with HMRC rather than Companies House.

If a confirmation statement is not filed, Companies House can take action. The company's record falls out of date, and continued failure to file can ultimately lead to the company being struck off the register. Beyond the formal consequences, an outdated record can cause practical problems — banks, customers, suppliers and lenders may check your Companies House information and see details that no longer reflect reality. Bringing the filing up to date as soon as possible is usually the sensible step.

With a professional service, you share the current details of your company — or confirm that nothing has changed — and the filing is prepared and submitted on your behalf. Along the way, the information held at Companies House is checked against what you have told us, so anything that looks out of date gets flagged before submission. If a change needs to be reported separately, that is identified too. The result is a confirmation statement that reflects the true position of the company, handled without you having to navigate the Companies House filing system yourself.
