He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

Who Needs Confirmation Statement Filing in Canterbury?
Most companies registered at Companies House need to file a confirmation statement, and being dormant or not trading generally doesn't remove that requirement. If your company is on the register, you'll usually need to confirm that the information held about it is accurate — which is a separate job from preparing annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return.
- Private limited companies, including single-director, family-run and owner-managed businesses
- Dormant companies that aren't currently trading or receiving income
- Non-trading companies that still hold a place on the Companies House register
- Companies limited by guarantee and other UK-registered entity types with a filing requirement
- Newly incorporated companies approaching the end of their first review period
- Directors, company secretaries and accountants responsible for keeping company records accurate

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Do?
A confirmation statement — often referred to as the CS01 — is the filing a company uses to confirm that the information Companies House holds about it is accurate and up to date. It isn't a financial filing: it doesn't report profit, turnover or tax, and it doesn't replace statutory accounts or a Corporation Tax Return. Think of it as a periodic check that your public record still reflects reality.
- The company's registered office address and, where applicable, its registered email address
- Director details, including appointments, resignations and changes to their information
- Shareholder information, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSCs) and the nature of their control
- The company's principal business activity and SIC codes, where these apply
- Confirmation that the information already held is correct, or details of what needs correcting
- Changes that must be reported separately, such as a change of registered office or the appointment of a director, using the relevant forms rather than waiting for the confirmation statement

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made to Companies House that confirms the information held about your company is accurate and up to date. It's sometimes called the CS01. It is not a financial document — it doesn't report profit, turnover, tax or dividends — and it isn't a replacement for annual accounts or a Corporation Tax Return. Its purpose is simply to keep the public register correct, so anyone who checks your company's record sees the right details.
Most companies registered at Companies House do, including private limited companies, companies limited by guarantee and dormant companies. If your company is on the register, the requirement to file a confirmation statement generally applies regardless of whether the company is trading. There are a small number of entity types and circumstances where the position differs, so if you're unsure about your own company it's worth checking the details on its Companies House record or asking for guidance before you assume no filing is needed.
A company generally needs to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months. This 12-month window is known as the review period, and it usually runs from the date the company was incorporated or from the date of the last confirmation statement. The filing deadline is linked to that review period, not to your accounting period or to your annual accounts deadline — which is a common point of confusion. Companies House lists the next confirmation statement date on your company's public record.
Before filing, you'll typically be checking the registered office address, the directors and their details, the shareholders and statement of capital, people with significant control and the nature of their control, and the company's principal business activity. You're confirming that these details are correct as they stand, or flagging what needs to change. Some changes — such as appointing a director or moving the registered office — have to be reported to Companies House separately using the relevant form, rather than being dealt with only through the confirmation statement.
Yes, in most cases. Being dormant or not trading doesn't usually remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the purpose of the filing is to confirm the accuracy of the company's record rather than to report trading activity. A dormant company may still need to file a confirmation statement and, separately, meet its other Companies House obligations, such as filing accounts for the period. It's worth keeping the two requirements distinct so nothing is missed.
No — these are three separate filings with different purposes. The confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about your company is accurate. Annual (statutory) accounts are the company's financial statements, also filed at Companies House. A Corporation Tax Return, often called a CT600, is submitted to HMRC to report the company's taxable profits. Filing one of these does not satisfy the others, and each has its own deadline and requirements.
If a confirmation statement isn't filed, the company's record will show that it's overdue, and Companies House can follow up on the missing filing. Persistent failure to file can lead to further action being taken in respect of the company, including its position on the register being put at risk. It's also worth remembering that filing a confirmation statement doesn't make a company compliant with every other Companies House or tax obligation — accounts, Corporation Tax Returns and VAT Returns all sit separately. If you've missed a filing, the sensible step is to get it brought up to date as soon as possible rather than waiting.
A professional service typically starts by reviewing your company's current Companies House record against the information you hold. We then prepare the confirmation statement, highlight anything that needs updating — such as a change of director or registered office — and handle the confirmation statement submission on your behalf. Where changes need to be reported separately, we'll explain that clearly. Pricing is transparent and can be arranged on a fixed-fee basis, so you know where you stand. To get started, simply get in touch with your company details and we'll take it from there.
