I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Which UK Companies Need Confirmation Statement Filing?
Most UK limited companies — including many that are dormant, not trading or sitting quietly between projects — need to complete Confirmation Statement Filing at Companies House at least once every 12 months. The confirmation statement is simply a way of confirming that the information Companies House holds about your company is correct, and it is a separate filing from your annual accounts and your Corporation Tax Return.
- Active limited companies trading in Aberystwyth and across the UK
- Dormant companies that are not currently trading or receiving income
- Non-trading companies that are still registered at Companies House
- Companies limited by shares, limited by guarantee and LLP structures where a confirmation statement applies
- Directors and company secretaries responsible for keeping the register up to date
- Businesses whose details have changed since the last confirmation statement

What Is a Confirmation Statement and What Does It Do?
A confirmation statement (often referred to as a CS01) is the document a company uses to confirm that the information Companies House holds about it is accurate and up to date. It is not a set of accounts and it is not a tax return — it is a check on your company's public record, filed at least once every 12 months for the review period in question.
- Registered office address and single alternative inspection location details
- Company directors, secretaries and their service addresses
- Shareholders, share capital and the statement of capital
- People with significant control (PSC) information
- Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code and principal business activity
- Confirmation of the company's legal structure and exemption status where relevant
- Any changes since the last confirmation statement that need to be reflected in the record

─── FAQs
Your Questions, Answered
Common questions about our confirmation statement filing service, deadlines and what Companies House requires.
A confirmation statement is a filing made at Companies House that confirms the information held about your company on the public register is accurate and up to date. It is sometimes called a CS01, and it is a separate document from your annual accounts and from your Corporation Tax Return. The confirmation statement does not report profit, loss or tax — it is purely about confirming company details such as the registered office address, directors, shareholders and people with significant control.
Most UK limited companies need to file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, and this generally applies whether the company is actively trading, dormant or simply not trading at the moment. Certain structures and circumstances differ, so the requirement depends on your company's legal form and its current status. If you are unsure whether your company falls within the requirement, it is worth checking your position on the Companies House register or asking a service provider to review it for you.
Generally, a company must file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, measured across a review period that Companies House sets from the date of your previous statement or your incorporation. If your company's information changes, you are not required to wait for that annual date — you can file more than one confirmation statement during the same review period to bring the record up to date. The confirmation statement cycle is separate from your accounting period and from your annual accounts deadline, so do not assume the dates line up.
The confirmation statement asks you to confirm details such as the registered office address, the company directors and secretary, the shareholders and statement of capital, and the people with significant control. You also confirm your SIC code and principal business activity, and any other information Companies House holds about the company. If something has changed, the confirmation statement itself only confirms the position — certain changes need to be reported separately to Companies House, often on a different form, rather than simply being noted on the statement.
In most cases, yes. Being dormant or not trading does not normally remove the requirement to file a confirmation statement, because the statement is about the accuracy of your company's record rather than about trading activity or profit. Dormant companies may also have separate filing obligations, such as annual accounts, and possibly a Corporation Tax Return depending on their circumstances. The confirmation statement sits alongside those obligations — it does not replace them.
No, and this is one of the most common points of confusion. A confirmation statement confirms that Companies House holds the right information about your company. Annual accounts report your company's financial position for an accounting period. A Corporation Tax Return (CT600) is filed with HMRC to report taxable profit and calculate what tax is due. These are three separate filings, with different purposes, different submission routes and different deadlines, so filing one does not satisfy the others.
If no confirmation statement is filed, the company's record falls out of date, and Companies House may take action against the company or its directors. The consequences depend on the circumstances and on how long the filing remains outstanding. In practice, the sensible approach is to deal with it as soon as you realise it has been missed rather than leaving it longer, and to make sure any changes to company information are reported separately at the same time.
With Micro Entity Accounts, you share the details of your company and confirm whether anything has changed since the last statement — directors, address, shareholders, PSC information and so on. We review that against the information held at Companies House, prepare and submit the confirmation statement, and handle the associated Companies House information updates where they are needed. You get a clear explanation of what has been filed, transparent pricing with no surprises, and the reassurance that your public record has been checked by someone who deals with these filings regularly.
