I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

They are the first set of statutory accounts a company prepares after incorporation, covering its initial accounting period. That period generally runs from the date of incorporation to the company's first accounting reference date, though the first period set for a company can differ depending on the circumstances. The accounts are prepared from the company's accounting records and include a balance sheet, plus a profit and loss account where applicable, and they are delivered to Companies House where required.
The deadline depends on the company's incorporation date and its accounting reference date, along with the applicable Companies House requirements for first accounts. Companies House sets the first accounting period when a company is incorporated, and the filing deadline follows from that date rather than from a fixed rule that applies to every company. Directors in Feltham should check the specific dates recorded for their own company, and it is sensible to start preparing well before the period closes so nothing is left to the final weeks.
It varies from company to company, but accountants typically ask for bank transactions and statements for the period, sales and income records, business expenses, purchase invoices, details of any assets bought, director transactions including loans and repayments, share capital information, and any finance or loan agreements. Where payroll or VAT records exist, those are useful too. A company with very little activity will need considerably less than one that has been trading, so the information requested should reflect what has actually happened during the period.
Where a company is required to file accounts, it must do so whether or not it has started trading, and incorporation alone does not remove that obligation. Filing first-year accounts with Companies House is not the same as submitting a Corporation Tax Return to HMRC — the accounts go to Companies House, while a CT600 goes to HMRC where the company has Corporation Tax obligations, and the two serve different purposes. Neither filing automatically completes the other.
A company may still have statutory filing obligations even where activity has been limited or trading has not yet commenced. What the reporting position looks like depends on the company's circumstances and the applicable rules. Having no significant accounting transactions does not automatically mean a company is dormant, and dormant status is a specific position with its own conditions rather than a description of a quiet year. It is worth discussing the actual position before assuming no accounts are needed.
No. First-year statutory accounts are the company's annual accounts for its initial period and are delivered to Companies House where required. A CT600 is a Corporation Tax Return submitted to HMRC where the company has Corporation Tax obligations, and the company's first Corporation Tax accounting period may not match its statutory accounts period. A confirmation statement is a separate Companies House filing that keeps the company's registered details up to date. Filing one of these does not replace the others.
Some newly incorporated companies qualify for the micro-entity framework if they meet the eligibility conditions that apply to the relevant accounting period, and FRS 105 is the financial reporting standard used by qualifying entities reporting under it. Qualification is not automatic, and FRS 105 does not apply to every new company. A company with low turnover is not necessarily eligible either, because eligibility depends on more than one factor. The right framework should be confirmed from the company's own circumstances before the accounts are prepared.
Filing required accounts after the applicable deadline can lead to consequences from Companies House, and the outcome is not the same in every case. Paying any penalty does not remove the need to file the outstanding accounts, so the priority is to get the position regularised. Where a director in Feltham believes there was a valid reason for the delay, whether an appeal is available depends on the circumstances and the applicable rules. Professional support can help you understand the position and get the accounts prepared and filed.
