Your Questions, Answered
Common questions from directors of small UK limited companies. Can’t see yours? Ask us directly and we’ll answer the same working day.
Micro-entity accounts are a simplified form of statutory accounts available to qualifying small companies and LLPs. They require reduced disclosures compared to full accounts and are prepared using the micro-entity accounting framework, typically FRS 105.
Private limited companies and other eligible entities may qualify if they meet at least two of the applicable conditions. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, the conditions are an annual turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees. Qualification is subject to the rules for your accounting period and circumstances.
FRS 105 is the Financial Reporting Standard applicable to micro-entities in the UK. It sets out the presentation and disclosure requirements for micro-entity accounts, allowing eligible companies to prepare simplified accounts with reduced information.
You'll need to provide your company's financial records, including bank statements, invoices, receipts, and details of any loans or directors' transactions. If your records are incomplete, we can help you organise them before preparing the accounts.
Our service includes preparation of your statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 105, filing them with Companies House, and preparing your CT600 Corporation Tax Return for submission to HMRC where applicable. We also provide guidance on your filing obligations and deadlines.
Yes, statutory accounts, including micro-entity accounts, are filed with Companies House as part of your annual filing requirements. This is separate from your Corporation Tax Return, which is submitted to HMRC.
Yes, even if you file micro-entity accounts with Companies House, your company must also submit a CT600 Corporation Tax Return to HMRC each year, unless it is dormant or otherwise exempt. We can prepare and file this on your behalf.
Eligible LLPs may qualify for micro-entity reporting where they meet the applicable requirements. We can review your LLP's circumstances to determine if it can use the micro-entity regime.
