I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we’re really glad we did. Their team is great. Abdul is responsive and easy to reach whenever I have a question, which makes a big difference. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. They are very knowledgeable, and when they don’t have the answer straight away, they take the time to look into it and get back to us quickly. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing. She is professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. She's also very quickin getting back to us whenever needed. We’re very happy to work with her and hope to continue doing so for as long as possible. Overall, Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.Posted on Google![]()

I have really impressed to date with all dealings with Accotax highly enough. From day one, they've made what can often be a complicated and stressful part of running a business feel straightforward and hassle-free. A special mention has to go to Anum, who has been friendly, incredibly responsive, and genuinely cares about providing the best possible service. No question is ever too much trouble, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is dealt with efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for an accountant they can genuinely trust.Posted on Google![]()

They are the first set of statutory accounts prepared for a limited company's initial accounting period. That period usually begins on the date of incorporation and ends on the company's first accounting reference date, although the precise dates depend on the incorporation date and the accounting reference date assigned at Companies House. The accounts typically include a balance sheet, and a profit and loss account where the applicable reporting framework requires one, together with any notes required for the framework being used.
The deadline depends on the company's incorporation date, its accounting reference date and the filing requirements that apply to it. First accounts are often treated differently from later sets of accounts, so the date is not something to estimate. The most reliable approach is to confirm the position for your own company before the period ends, and to allow enough time for the records to be reviewed and the accounts to be prepared properly rather than working backwards from a filing date.
It varies with what the company has actually done. Typically it includes bank transactions and statements, sales and income records, business expenses and purchase invoices, details of any assets bought, share capital and shareholder information, and any loans, finance agreements or director transactions. Where the company runs payroll or is VAT registered, those records are relevant too. Companies with very little activity need far less, but the bank position and share capital still usually need to be accounted for.
A limited company generally still has statutory accounts obligations even where trading has not started or activity has been minimal. Whether it is treated as dormant for reporting purposes depends on its particular circumstances and the applicable rules, so it should not be assumed either way. Many directors in Chobham find it useful to have the position reviewed before deciding how to proceed, particularly where the company has been incorporated for some time without starting to trade.
No, and they are submitted to different bodies. The statutory accounts are prepared for the company's members and filed with Companies House where required. A Corporation Tax Return, such as a CT600, is submitted to HMRC where the company has a Corporation Tax obligation. Figures from the accounts often inform the tax return, but filing one does not file the other, and a company's first Corporation Tax accounting period may not be identical to its statutory accounts period.
It may, if it meets the applicable eligibility criteria for the relevant accounting period, in which case micro-entity accounts are prepared under FRS 105, the financial reporting standard for qualifying entities using that framework. Eligibility should be assessed rather than assumed, and being newly incorporated does not by itself make a company a micro-entity. Some companies fall under the small companies regime instead, or need to report under a different framework altogether.
No. A confirmation statement is a separate filing that confirms the company's registered details and is submitted at its own interval, independently of the accounts. Filing statutory accounts does not satisfy the confirmation statement requirement, and a company may still need to keep its Companies House information up to date during its first year. The two obligations run alongside each other.
Failing to deliver required accounts by the applicable deadline can lead to consequences from Companies House, and the outcome depends on how late the filing is and the circumstances involved. Paying any penalty does not remove the obligation to file the outstanding accounts. If accounts are already overdue, the priority is normally to get accurate accounts prepared and delivered, and to understand whether any appeal route may be available for your situation.
