I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are the financial statements a company prepares for a specific accounting period, setting out information about its financial position and performance. They are prepared under the accounting framework that applies to the company and, where required, are filed at Companies House. Depending on the company's size and circumstances, the accounts may include a balance sheet, profit and loss account, notes and other required statements or information.
UK registered limited companies generally have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House, subject to the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. The type and content of the accounts can vary depending on company size, accounting period, dormant status and the accounting framework used. If you are unsure what applies to your company, it is worth checking the position before the filing deadline approaches.
The deadline depends on the company's own circumstances and accounting period, so there is no single date that applies to every company. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline based on their accounting reference period, and the exact date should be checked for the individual company. It is sensible to confirm your deadline early, as late filing can lead to Companies House late filing penalties.
Annual accounts are filed with Companies House, usually online or by other accepted submission methods. This is separate from anything sent to HMRC. The information included in the accounts filed at Companies House can also depend on the company's size, the applicable accounting framework, any exemptions claimed and current Companies House requirements, so not every company publishes the same level of detail.
No. Annual accounts filed with Companies House are separate from a Company Tax Return submitted to HMRC, and filing accounts at Companies House does not itself constitute filing a CT600. Information from the accounts may be used when preparing the company's Corporation Tax computation and CT600, but the two are distinct obligations with their own requirements and deadlines.
No, they are different compliance tasks. A confirmation statement confirms that company information held by Companies House is correct, while annual accounts report on the company's financial position and performance for the accounting period. Both may need to be dealt with, but they serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Dormant companies may still have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House, so being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically mean the company is exempt from filing annual accounts. The position depends on the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. Where filing is required, dormant company accounts are typically prepared on a simplified basis, and specialist support can help confirm what applies.
A company may be able to prepare and file accounts under the micro-entities regime, using FRS 105, where the regime is applicable and chosen. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least two of three size conditions to qualify: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average number of employees of no more than 10, subject to the relevant rules and exclusions. Meeting these figures does not automatically mean a company qualifies, so eligibility should always be checked.
