I worked with Accotx on a HMRC reclaim and overall, they did ultimately deliver on their promise, which I appreciate. The process did take longer than any of us expected, partly due to external delays with the tax authorities, and partly because there were some hiccups in communication and follow-up. However, despite those challenges, they stayed professional and stuck to the original agreed terms. If you’re considering using them, be prepared to stay in regular contact to keep things moving along. They are absolutely capable, have the expertise and willing to work with you, and overall improving their services over time. I would certainly return for any future needs.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend Imran to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable accountant. He helped me sort out a very complicated backlog of accounts and prepared my overdue tax returns with professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout the process, he was incredibly patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, and explained everything clearly. He guided me through each step and helped rectify issues that had built up over time, making what felt like an overwhelming situation much more manageable. I'm very pleased with the service I've received and truly appreciate his support. If you need help with your accounts or taxes, I would highly recommend Imran.Posted on Google![]()

Annual accounts are the statutory financial statements for a company's accounting period. They provide information about the company's financial position and performance for that period and are prepared according to the accounting framework applicable to the company, such as the small companies regime or the micro-entities regime where relevant. Where a filing obligation applies, the accounts are submitted to Companies House.
UK registered limited companies generally have annual accounts filing responsibilities, although the exact requirements depend on the company's circumstances and any applicable exemptions. Micro-entities, dormant companies, one-director companies and other eligible small limited companies may all have a filing obligation, but the type and content of the accounts can vary. It is worth checking the position for your own company rather than assuming every company files the same information.
The filing deadline depends on the company's circumstances and its accounting reference period, so there is no single date that applies to every company. Private companies generally have a Companies House filing deadline based on their accounting reference period, and the exact date should be confirmed for the individual company. Companies House can impose late filing penalties where accounts are submitted after the relevant deadline, so it is sensible to diarise the date early.
Depending on the company's size and the applicable accounting framework, annual accounts may include a balance sheet, a profit and loss account, notes to the accounts, and other required statements or information. Smaller companies and micro-entities often prepare and file a reduced set of information, while larger companies may need to include more. The precise contents therefore depend on the company rather than following one fixed template.
No. Annual accounts filed with Companies House are separate from a Company Tax Return (CT600) submitted to HMRC. Information from the accounts may be used when preparing the company's Corporation Tax computation and CT600, but filing annual accounts with Companies House does not itself constitute filing a Corporation Tax Return with HMRC. The two have different submission routes, and their deadlines should be tracked separately.
No, they are different filing obligations. A confirmation statement confirms details such as the company's registered office, directors and shareholders, whereas annual accounts set out the company's financial position and performance for the accounting period. Both may need to be filed with Companies House at different points, and one does not replace the other.
Dormant companies may still have annual accounts filing responsibilities with Companies House. Being dormant for Corporation Tax purposes does not automatically mean the company is exempt from filing annual accounts, and dormant accounts may still need to be prepared and submitted. The position depends on the company's circumstances, so it is worth confirming what applies before assuming no filing is required.
Micro-entities may qualify for the micro-entities regime and may prepare accounts using FRS 105 where that regime is applicable and chosen. For accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025, a company generally needs to meet at least two of three conditions: turnover of no more than £1 million, a balance sheet total of no more than £500,000, and an average of no more than 10 employees, subject to applicable rules and exclusions. Meeting these figures does not automatically mean a company qualifies, as other rules can affect eligibility.
